My kids have been a part of the program community in schools since 2021until this year. I had to make the decision to pull my children from the program this year due to the horrible staff they hired at Hodge elementary school. Kiana Chance has shown so much unprofessionalism towards me and my kids. She has allowed my children to get injured under her care numerous times and she never knows what happens. I’ve called to ask her about a serious head injury that occurred in her program which my daughter claimed that she and another teacher witnessed and they did nothing about it. She blames her staff all of the time saying “I’ll have to check in to see what happened because I wasn’t there”. She has allowed student to kick my students in their stomach to the point they have had stomach pain and when my students tell the staff, they ignore them and do nothing. On top of everything, they are supposed to at least begin their homework in the program and this year only, the homework never gets completed or even started. I’ve had to reach out so many times about homework. They are supposed to have a homework sign off sheet and Kiana has never been able to produce the sheet for me to see. Then when I let her know that I feel that they aren’t properly watching the students and I report to her leadership, she retaliates by trying to suspend my students. Then she begins to accuse them of stealing candy. When they defend themselves and say that they didn’t do it, she still tries to punish them. I’ve never seen such an ignorant person in my life. Kiana came to me saying another teacher said that my child stole from their classroom. My child says she did not. But because she was seen with candy, she was automatically guilty of stealing candy according to Kiana. I reached out to several teachers regarding this whom still to this day have never said anything about anyone stealing. She began to demand apology letters from my child with no evidence of her stealing and no teacher saying that she stole. It’s just Kiana (who rally shouldn’t be involved) against my student. It got to a point where I had to let her know that I’ll just discuss matters with the teachers directly, just so she would stop emailing me and accusing my child of theft. I’ve recorded every conversation with Kiana and have so many emails. People like her should not be around children. She shouldn’t be allowed to retaliate when I decide to report the constant injuries my kids are getting under her care. Her leadership Hanna Taylor and Diana Vargas has done a horrible job as well of following up which leads me to pulling my children from the program completely. The events this year were horrible, barely any parents wanted to show up. In the past, the events were a blast and had a huge turn out. I’m simply sharing this here to warn other parents of Kiana Chance and the entire Communities in school program.
