I took the AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) training at Defib This because it was recommended to me by a friend. My instructor, John, was very engaging and really brought the course to life. He made sure everyone understood the material and he gave very helpful demonstrations. I will definitely come back here when it's time to get my recertification. The facility is very clean and even has a break room that is always stocked where you can get coffee or snacks!

I first took my CPR class a couple years ago at Defib, and I just liked the schools vibe. My CPR instructor (Erik) suggested I take the EMT course at Defib. I recently completed the EMT course and I am so glad I took it there! I loved the instructors, environment , and just everything about the school. I must admit I was terrified taking the course but my instructors helped me throughout the course and made it less terrifying. I am sad the course has come to an end but I will be back for more in the future.

Santa Cruz is so lucky to have Defib this as a necessary resource for Healthcare workers. I Love Aki! ❤️ She's unique, authentic, and has lots of experience to share. I always learn something new.
Great location and they even have coffee and snacks. Friendly environment....i even brought my dog to class.

The service experience was down to the point effective information. I have difficulty with test taking, especially with complicated wording like PALS questions. Yet, I was able to utilize the tools provided to successfully pass my PALS test for certification. I love taking classes at Defib This because of the amazing staff always making the best out of the clases and positive engaging energy. However, Aki is my favorite instructor by far, as she made a virtual class feel like an in person experience. Since I am a hands-on learner, I really appreciated her sending us useful material and instructions that were useful for class. I am also not a morning person but her straightforward teaching method with interactive lessons made class interesting. I hope to have her as an instructor in future renewals.

If DeFib This has a class or course you're looking for, look no further and sign up! I have taken numerous classes from Defib This since they started and I have had nothing but awesome experiences and still learn a lot in every class after almost 25 years as a Paramedic. I'm a former Paramedic educator, having taught Paramedicine, AHA Certified ACLS & PALS instructor, I have experienced may ACLS and PALS recert programs (in Bay Area) that have punitive instructors that let their egos run the class and in turn they put off the student from learning. My teaching philosophy during my years in prehospital education was to never make a student feel bad if they didn't know the answer or action needed, and to educate them with easy to remember nuggets of information that are easy to pull from when "all hell breaks loose" on the job. A positive educational learning atmosphere is exactly what I recieve from every class I've taken at DeFib This! Aki and Alex (as well as their other instructors) do an absolutely amazing job educating and teaching in a fun, easy way to learn from.

We've had Defibthis do CPR/1st aid training for our staff and teachers a couple of times, and both times we've been extremely pleased. They tailored the presentation to our unique needs and made it fun and interactive. The presenters answered all our questions and gave thorough explanations. We always learn a great deal from them and feel very prepared for any situation.

I just took an AHA CPR class here and it went very well!
Our instructor, Kim Nettleton, was totally knowledgeable & answered all our questions clearly and coherently. Great vibes all around!

The facility was clean & well organized. Even the CPR manikins and other equipment were in good order. I especially appreciated that there were ample adult AND infant manikins for every student to get their proper practice : )
