Really cool! Loved seeing the dogs and being able to pet them. The dogs are well cared for and the staff is knowledgeable. It was a great place to visit, and easy to get to and from with the free shuttles. Definetly worth going. Demo is short, 20-25min. Mostly listening and a short visual demo which lasts maybe a minute.

The Denali Sled Dog Demonstration was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the energy and enthusiasm of the park rangers and the sled dogs were contagious. Learning about the history and significance of these incredible animals in the park’s operations was fascinating, informative, interactive, and beautifully showcased the unique role sled dogs continue to play in Denali. My favorite part was visiting the dogs. Get in line early for the shuttle.

Really cool Alaskan Huskies! During the summer, they have shows at 10 am, 2 pm, and 4 pm where you can watch the dogsleds pull rangers around in a go-kart. So cool!

There are free buses to the kennels from the visitor center and Riley Creek Campground 🙂

This is the location for training and housing the Alaskan sled dogs.

A short bus ride takes you from the park visitor center to the facility. We watched a demonstration of several dogs being released and run for training and also pulling a wheeled sled.

You’re free to walk around and pet some of the dogs. There’s also a small display in a cabin with a couple good videos.

It’s worth the visit if you want to learn about sled dogs.

Neat to see the dogs up close and to watch the pull a sled! Presentation was okay, would like to learn more about the dogs. Liked their training, how they are chosen, how long a dog can stay in the program-things like that would be very interesting. Also, the ranger's voice was rather monotone and lacked enthusiasm and was hard to stay attentive for long in the heat.

If you are visiting Denali NP, put this in your itinerary. It is so worth the 30mins it takes to pet the sled dogs and learn about their relevance, contributions and how they came to be from a NP ranger. You also get to watch a small demonstration of what the sled dogs do.

We only did a walk through but we got to see some amazing sled dogs and some of the equipment used! Don’t miss this if heading to Denali! Warning though parking is slim.
