this place used to be great. recently we’ve had some really bad experiences. employees literally bullying the customers. favoring all the people that go in there just to resell items. i’m saying they’re bringing carts out directly to those people for them to look through before anyone else has a chance. absolutely unfair and flat out disrespectful. the little security dude who thinks he’s fooling everyone follows me around like a complete creep while i have my children. absolutely unimpressed. then they go back on their own prices!! corporate has been contacted.

I think they should rename it to just Deseret Industries and drop the thrift store part of the name. I give it two stars because it is clean and orderly. It also seems like they finally started to filter junk donations with good thrift items. Which is great because many people who donate don’t seem to know the difference between junk trash and appropriate items to donate.

Anyhow, my main complaint is the prices are crazy. Some of the prices for items are severely unreasonable when they are getting it for free. I would consider pricing items to be in multiple tiers; Thrift stores, Facebook Market Place/Ebay, and department stores like Walmart and Target. The Deseret Industries has been pricing items as if they’re selling on Facebook marketplace and even Walmart. It truly is not very thrifty, at least for the furniture and “yard area” items.

Pictures:
These clearly outdated couch set was $250, and the scuffed up coffee table was $100. If those people that donated them (for free) decided to sell on Facebook instead of giving to the DI I’m not convinced they would even get that kind of money out of those items. And that’s a purchasing platform people expect to pay more money than a thrift store.

I got great service today! Even though he was clocked of yalls associate Bo was so kind to me even though I was keeping him from clocking out, and even when he was clocked out he realised I forgot an item and got it for me. Exceptional service all around!

I used to enjoy the Ammon DI thrift store. However, my experience yesterday with one of the managers is the reason that I most likely will not be returning. I stop by the DI many times a week on my way home from work looking for a specific type of stuffed animal/plush. I am heading to Kenya, and I look for really soft and squishy stuffed animals that are easy to vacuum seal and pack in a suitcase for kids in a very poor village that I’m visiting. Every single time I go to the DI, the smaller stuffed animals are $1 and the large are $2. Yesterday I got to the cash register with one of the regular cashiers that I’ve come to know, and as she was ringing me up, one of the managers stopped her and told her that the small stuffed animals are $3 and the large are $5. She looked shocked, and I told him that the small ones are $1 and the large ones are $2. He responded by low-key arguing with me saying that he was in the back while they were pricing them, and that the stickers are on the plushes. As he was looking for the stickers, which there were none, I told him that I’ve been coming there almost every day, including the day before, and the prices have always been $1 and $2. And he continued to insist that they are $3 and $5. Not only is a 200% increase overnight ridiculous, but none of the cashiers were made aware of this supposed increase. That manager not only exhibited poor managerial qualities, but extremely poor customer relations skills. I’m extremely disappointed because I used to think that was a good store. Now, I look at the Ammon DI as another greedy, money-grabbing institution. I’m extremely disappointed with how the situation was handled, and I chose to walk away empty handed. I’ll spend my money somewhere else.

Prices are ok. Employees are nice. Most good items are took by the ebay sellers before they hit the floor, it's like a pack of piranhas who smelt blood. That's annoying but not the stores fault.

Beautifully organized items in a gigantic spotlessly clean store. You can’t beat the value and great service you’ll find here. Excellent!

First impressions are good. This DI is so much nicer than the old one in town. It's very large and nicely priced. The employees seemed busy and weren't super happy. The selection has room to grow. Overall very pleased

The DI in our town is crusty and old, so this DI was absolutely beautiful. Everything organized perfectly, color coded, and super clean. My mom could not stop raving about it from the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out. Employees were also quite friendly and tidy.
