I believe in this program. The instructors, fantastic. Learned quite a bit in the 4 years of class. However, in the last year and a half or so, administrators have changed, not for the better. They don't care about helping the students, don't return emails, phone calls. Anyway, the program is great, be very careful with the guys running the office.

WE ARE HIRING, YES WE ARE Looking for hard work men AND WOMEN. Yes, we want workers who are not afraid of a 10 ladder, but that is not necessary. WE will train you to use tools. We will train you to read a blueprint. We will teach you teamwork helps get a job done on time and on budget. We will also teach about accountability.

This is very similar to the idea of joining a university, BUT we pay you to learn. We pay for the lessons to help you stand out and get solo tasks done.

We hire between 50 and 300 new apprentices each year. Once hired, there is a contract that guarantees you raises approximately every six months for the first five years. WE don't give $0.25 cent raises we give a agreement raise of 5%. Approximately $2.50 an hour and more...

Very rude people working in the office. They wont answer questions they refer you to their website. Especially don't care if you're a combat veteran. Unions are dying you'd think they be a little nicer and recruit as many hard working people as possible.

My experience hasn’t been great at all thus far, when trying to apply for this program. Maybe not all the staff are like this but Amanda was very rude on application day and on top of it gave me wrong information that cost me an opportunity to test during the application cycle. Just seems like she didn’t have any paitence, I watched her be rude to numerous people in line when they didn’t have the right paper work or was missing something. She seems to forget, her job is also customer service not just pushing pencils and filing paper work. This experience validated why many electricians don’t like the union. Just left a bad taste for me, I was disappointed in not getting to test after doing EVERYTHING they asked. And the 30 day rule is nonsense especially when they don’t tell you that they count application day as day 1. Don’t really know if I’ll apply again after this outcome.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They coordinate classes for electricians. They keep track of what classes the electricians have taken and help them figure out what they still need. They take applications for the apprenticeship programs. They set up the tests for people applying for apprenticeship. They set up interviews for applicants. They teach classes here for apprentices and electricians. The classes I took notes for a Deaf person or attended were professional, helpful and informative.

I called to inquire about information on the application process, also to asked when will be the next time they will be taking applications. The person I spoke to was very rude over the phone and acted as if it was an inconvenience to answer simply questions. I definitely will try back late due to the IBEW not taking applications at the moment, but they really need to do something about their staff and the way they treat applicants.

Build your skills as an Electrician and earn your Journeyman status! The Electrical Joint Apprenticeship is the best way to carve your path as an Electrician Apprentice and build a career as a Journeyman Wireman or Tech, working with high or low voltage. Being a member of the Union, you'll get great pay and benefits. The Union looks out for one another, and stand together to make sure that all are given the appropriate pay and benefits for their hard work, and that all Union workers are treated properly and with the respect that they deserve. Union workers are skilled workers thanks to the JATC (Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee)!
