I have to start out by saying how impressed I am about Senei John's passion to help his students to suceed in life. My boy is 7 and when he started he had no confidence, very scared of everything to the point that his grandmother even said she was getting getting worried because she thought he was turning out to be one of those kids who gets beat up all the time and quite frankly before he started at ESDA he was the kids who got beat up in First Grade. By his own classmates. They would throw his stuff in the mud and then push him in it, they pushed him down and kicked him four times, constantly made fun of him because he couldn't read yet. He is now in a new school and is doing so well well with just the environment change but once we started with Senei John he really began to change. Senei taught him how to read, he taught him how not to be afraid to try, he taught him the significance of trying your best and just do it. My son is also learning jijitsu and thats a great teaching tool but my son loves so much more about going. He even wakes up asking if we are going to ESDA first thing. He's in the summer camp now so he gets to go everyday. He'll definitly be in the afterschool program. I actually wish he could be in an all day program with Sensei all year. Another awesome thing is that Sensei offered me a job when we just started with him as a housekeeper, it didn't work out for me but I asked him if I could volunteer in exchange for tuition so he said yes and it's been so amazing. I've learned so much a bout how to teach children and about my own life. I could go on and on but I have to leave for the camp now. Please take the chance to at least go and meet with Sensei and view one of his classes, you will fall in love.

I came across Elite Self Defense Academy on facebook, I am a lifelong martial artist and I watched the videos on their facebook page with horror. The techniques being shown are extremely dangerous to the person applying them and are completely ineffective in live combat. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL.
