I have loved my experience with EKA so far! My son started here a few months ago after being at home for the first year and a half and the transition has been amazing. He gets excited every time we pull into the parking lot and runs all the way to his classroom with the biggest smile on his face. We get updates throughout the day on everything he is doing which puts my mom heart at ease. I have had positive experiences with everyone I have interacted with at the daycare and even though there are tons of kids there I do feel like the director and assistant director have taken the time to get to know my son and me. My son loves his teacher Meg, Karma, Abby and Danni and is always smiling and having fun with them. I could not have asked for a better first time experience putting my first child into daycare!

The owner/director Aspen and her staff are incredible! So caring, attentive, flexible, and transparent with everything. Through work schedule changes and illnesses- they have always put the kids first and are so dedicated. 100000% recommend this place. From the moment you walk in- you feel welcome. And when I pick him up, it’s such a friendly homey atmosphere. Tons of learning opportunities for the kids! Love it!

Staffing is great and the owner is awesome the curriculum is everything you could ask for when it comes to your kids learning the love for your kids is nothing less then what you give your kids at home I love that my kids are in a great facility such as this one I couldn’t be more grateful for the care they provide not sending your kids here would be a mistake and not to mention how affordable they are

I preface this review by saying Aspen truly does care for these kids and does try her best. She has a huge heart and ultimately wants what’s best for the kids.

That being said, going from an in home provider to opening her own center was a big adjustment and she probably took on more than she could handle. We were over promised and under delivered in the end. We were upfront about the concerns with our son and what his history was and why we were looking to move centers. She stated she understood and would be able to provide him the care he needed due to her background and hiring heavy on the teachers so staffing to somewhat lower ratios wouldn’t be an issue if he needed a smaller group or a break from the classroom. Most of the center is open concept. No doors on the classrooms, just gates to try to contain the kids in the rooms.
The preschool room is open directly to the gym and the gym is open to the toddler room as well. Having direct access to the gym makes it a challenge for some kids to stay in the room. Also, there are no shades on any of the windows. It’s so bright in the entire center for naps. The structure and layout of the center tends to be unorganized and often very chaotic and overstimulating. During pick up, trying to find his belongings like his water bottle, shoes, lunch box, etc was a challenge. His shoes may be outside or in the gym or zen space. No one really knew or kept track of the kids belongings. Daycares should be more structured, rooms with doors, darker for naps, and have more structure than what her center provides.

I know our son came with challenges but after 4.5 months, we were sent a text after hours (7:30pm) with a 3 day notice to find care elsewhere. It ultimately came down to not being staffed enough to provide the care he needed and her business was at a crucial point and she couldn’t do it anymore. Our son was one of three (the youngest) that got the text and short notice to find care elsewhere.

At the end of the day, we get it, but not being told in person and then also given a 3 day notice was unprofessional.
