The way that the employees at the Florida Department of Education treat educators is appalling.

Absolutely terrible customer service, not answering direct questions, not providing adequate resources to educators, the availability of managers, the disrespectful tone, the lack of knowledge, making fun of questions, and more make this organization a headache for people that are trying to do good in their communities.

Please prioritize training for both customer service agents and managers on how to be empathetic, helpful, and just decent human beings. Add resources that are actually helpful on your website.

I would love to communicate my experiences and concerns with a leader at this organization.

Department of education is a mess! I’ve filled several complaints regarding the balance of my student loans account. I’ve called several times and left messages for someone to call me and nothing! I just don’t understand how this works and how no one cares about anything.

I am highly disappointed! I am unable to reach the FLDOE Certifications Department at all for over 1 month. I have tried all times of the morning and night and I am out of country - 12 hours ahead of time. We need a more efficient way to communicate. This is causing teachers certification to be placed on hold when they are trying to reach out to someone and this is totally unacceptable.

This institution is rightly eviscerated on a daily basis online. And while there are reasons to potentially defend the shortcomings of this underfunded and abused institution, since Florida voters are partly to blame for the perpetual dysfunction, it's still a bridge too far to make excuses for a department that fails to fulfill its basic functions. People are unreachable by email and phone, important documents are consistently misplaced or even lost. Of course, for a state that has some rather backward approaches to education, this is all particularly on brand.

The building looks kind of nice.

TL/DR; avoid this one.

Florida ranks 50/51 in the nation in teacher pay, has a teacher shortage, and still can't get it together to have someone answering questions about teacher certification / recertification. This is absolutely pathetic but - to be expected of state run by Republicans.

Attempted to call and was on hold for over 2 hours to talk to a human with a simple Bright Futures question. Absolutely no help and an insane waste of a department

All that money is nice if you're not getting tutors for the students in the public system that need them to help keep their grades up. These kids need tutors to catch up and keep up in the public school system in Florida and virtually every other state in the country, just ask your teachers they will tell you.

I need to add a certificatation to my license, but the site is impossibly broken and won't let me. I waited an hour and a half for a human on the phone. She was very dismissive and told me to email tech.
