I had an issue with scheduling a FAA written exam because of short timing and the team went above and beyond to help me out. Wendy, on her day off I might add, was able to go in and add an extra slot for me to get it done on short notice. Thank you thank you!! Will definitely be scheduling all further exams with FLT.

I went to FLT academy and faced many problems because they didn't support students with disabilities well. Before starting, I passed the first-class medical aviation physical, which the school required before beginning the program.

Accessibility and Support: Even though I told them about my hearing disability before starting, the instructors didn't know how to help me properly. They confirmed to be flexible and understanding, but they weren't.

Inconsistent Instruction: The program had many different instructors. Some were consistent, but most were substitutes who got impatient when I asked for clarification. This made it hard for me to learn.

Discrimination and Program Removal: I felt discriminated against because of my hearing disability. I was removed from the program before my stage two test due to my need for frequent clarification, which I believe was not justified.

Institutional Priorities: The school seemed to care more about its reputation and push students through quickly rather than helping those who needed extra support. My instructor focused on students who were progressing faster, leaving me behind and hurting my progress. Ultimately this led to him having a conversation with the Chief Operating Officer, which was very one-sided.

Scheduling and Resource Issues: There were many scheduling changes, and sometimes I went a week or more without flying because my instructor was busy with other students' tests. The limited availability of planes also slowed my progress. Even though I was a part-time student, they expected me to keep up with full-time students.

Based on my experience, I can't recommend FLT academy for students with disabilities or different learning styles. The lack of support, inconsistent instruction, and focus on reputation over individual needs made my experience disappointing and frustrating.

Had such an amazing experience on my first discovery flight with Jenna Odeskirk. She was super knowledgeable about the aircrafts themselves and answered every question I had she did an amazing job thanks for the rewarding flight looking forward to pursuing my pilots license in the near future

Went on a one hour flight with Jenna Odekirk over bountiful and the great salt lake. I've had an interest in completing my PPL and eventually moving forward into commercial. Jenna made my introductory flight fun and informative, letting me fly the plane ascending and descending along with with some right and left turns, explaining all the instruments, what they do, and what to expect throughout my classes when I choose to move into commercial.

My favorite part was watching how effortless it was for her to fly and how she described her experience throughout her training. Would definitely recommend her as a flight instructor if you want someone knowledge and capable, or if it's your first time flying, a fun and interactive first flight.

Thank you so much Jenna! You're amazing!

The staff was so helpful getting my intro flight reschedule multiple times and honored the certificate that I had purchased over a year before when I sent them a screenshot of my bank statement. So greatful to them. The flight instructor was really fun and knowledgeable — I suggest doing the 90 minute flight.

You won’t find a better place to get your training! Everyone at FLT has been extremely professional and have been as motivated as I am to complete every stage. I was one of the people that has been interested in aviation my whole life and just never took the plunge to do it. Take my word that making that leap with FLT Academy was the best decision I’ve made! My only regret was not doing it 10 years ago. But thanks to FLT I will have a long and enjoyable career doing what I love! I promise you won’t be disappointed!

This school has a lot of great things going for it and can be a great place for students. They set you up with all of the equipment you'll need as a student. There is also a nice system in place for teaching you the knowledge you need both through instructors and self study. The loans that you can get through the school are a game changer. I would highly recommend a school like FLT Academy that has a loan program if you can't afford to pay for your whole schooling all on your own. However, plane availability is not very great. They are constantly down for inspections and the school has brought on a few too many students in my opinion. DPE availability is rough everywhere but I feel the school could do more to improve the situation for students. I feel FLT does have a genuine interest in doing right by the students. You can trust FLT Academy to deliver for you, but keep in mind that flight school in general is both fun and frustrating. FLT is no exception.

I would watch out if you are looking for flight training. I am looking to get a multi add-on to my commercial. Once you pay them there is zero accountability on their end. Not saying they are a bad school but IMO it’s a red flag when businesses try to lock you in and have zero accountability on their end. They wanted all the payment upfront via a cashiers check which has zero recourse. They might be a great school but the instructor might not be a fit for you. And in that case they would insist on you finishing the training or surrendering your funds. This isn’t inline with how the FAA via the FOI training suggests training to be done.

ULA has a similar program and doesn’t lock you in.
