I don't usually like big Campgrounds, but this one is great! There's a laundry facility, a very nice rest room with showers, a huge field with a walking trail... and the best thing that happened?!? A herd of wild buffalo visited this field and I got to see them up close! What majestic animals!

This was such a nice place to stay! Sites were not too close and very flat. Beautiful setting among the trees and along the creek. Great bathhouses that were nicely situated. Kids had a great playground and there were paved walking paths all around. Hosts were kinds and knowledgeable. If you need laundry facilities go to the gas station in Hermosa. It was clean and reasonably priced. There is a laundry room on site but it doesn’t open until May 1. We were there late April.

This camoground is wonderful! Very spacious spots, very clean, there are showers and also laundry house available. The playground is great for kids. Beautiful walking trails and a nice creek.

Beautiful facility. I arrived late and I am sure my hair was standing on end. A ranger came to help me back in and another camper brought me dinner after they saw me struggling to set up camp. Much appreciated act of kindness. The laundry was clean and reasonably priced. Showers were warm. There were buffalo grazing early in the morning at the far end of the campground.

Super nice spot. Very easy to navigate with very clean shower room accommodations. Fresh water fill and Gray/Black dump stations are set up nice. If you like quiet and clean, this is it.

Beautiful campground, spacious sites, solid tent pads, lovely creek that backs up to many of the sites. I would recommend getting a site on the creek if you have the option because the others don’t have many trees and you get to fall asleep to water running over the rocks. Facilities were very clean and park staff was communicative and helpful when we needed.

We are typically national park campground people. So, was a little worried with this one knowing it was a big campground. However, site 39 was awesome, right by the crick and had a rushing water sound! Sites were a little close but not too bad. Campground has laundry, showers, clean toilets, and a playground! I would definitely stay here again.

This is a lovely campground but the management is completely irrational. Sites 34 and 38 are described as tent sites, but lack any space to set up a tent that will be comfortable and dry. Because both of these sites, and their neighbors are located in a drainage basin that fill with water when it rains. After just 10-15 minutes of good rain, my tent was an inch deep in water. They don't even put in a pad like the other tent sites get. Site 34 doesn't even have a parking space.
And what's more, is good sites in the campground are empty but not available for reservation. This state park system doesn't release abandoned reservations to be claimed by new campers. So a bunch of the good tent sites are frequently empty and unusable.

I love this place, I've been there many times and never got tired of it, the restrooms are clean, the showers too, everything is clean and nice, there's also a laundry room.
There are cabins to stay, there's also space for RVs and tents, the little creek is so beautiful. The wild loop is right there and you can drive around and watch the animals, I really love this place

This is a wonderful campground. We really enjoyed our stay. The campground host is very sweet and all the rangers are great to talk to. Everyone works very hard to keep this place perfect.
