This guy needs to be fired Marcos is are absolutely rude also unwelcoming in your store. Today I went to exchange a PlayStation 5 because mine was defective. Try to have customer service along with not being rude to your employees along with customer. Marcos was frustrated because he could find my console in the system. I had provide a receipt plus my online order. The store from santee recommended me to go to this store to exchange my used PlayStation five. Instead of accusing me of not have an item I purchased from you while giving me attitude. Just call customer service. Why do I have to even ask is everything ok? Can you please call customer service this isn’t the first time I ran into an issue with this guy as well. I hope corporate or district manager resign the cameras I was in your store around five pm today last time I will be returning to this store. I am also contacting corporate to file a complaint

I’ve had a number of “bad” experiences at this gamestop location in Lemon Grove and every time I visit, its “bad” because of how this individual leader/manager treats me. Marcos is his name.
I told myself this guy probably just lacks self awareness and/or maybe he has a lot going on. Didn’t think much of the last 3 times he made my experience unwelcoming. I remember thinking no big deal made a mental note to never return to this location again. Easy, No problem.

That was until a year later, I was in the market for a particular ps5 bundle. I checked both the gamestop website and the app. Both said the one I was looking for was in stock and discounted for “pro”members. I had a couple questions and hoped there would be someone kind who could welcome me in and help me do what they beg us customers to do- trade in and buy their stuff.

With low expectations I walk in and am greeted by a trainee. I tell him -

“Im here to buy a particular ps5, this one came with 24mo months subscription. It shows online you have the one Im looking for in stock at this location …And I wanted to see if its still here…”

Do you know what his response was?

“Well we have a lot of ps5’s”

Thats when Marcos waddled in from the back towards the front where I was being helped. He rolled up to the trainee and proceeded to grunt under his breath a sharp, short “MOVE” to his team member so he could access the printer. Letting his trainee know he was up to more important matters and needed to get out of his way.

I felt bad for the trainee but thought little of him already reassuring me he hasn’t developed one bit since I last saw him. It wasnt until I saw Marcos nit pick and micro manage and belittle this kid for every single question or second guessing moment his team member had. I cringed at how he spoke to him and a sense of empathy came over me. This Marcos wasnt just a bully to his customers. He was a bully to everybody. Everyone gets a lick of this guys poor attitude and demeanor.
I ask Marcos questions about trade in and procedure but he would ignore me or care very little to answer. When he did answer my questions on pricing and procedure for online pricing he was wrong entirely by over $120 and instead of making light of being incorrect he proceeded to apologize for his trainee because he was “new”. When in fact, my raised eyebrow goes to Marco. I know Marco ain’t new. His attitudes however, is getting old. Burn.

He continued to do what he do poorly and shared that energy with others in the store.

At the end Marcos still had the nerve to beg me to buy the warranty and a double begs me for a bag. He proceeds to call my playstation 5 “The weird one” as the trainee rings me up and all I could say in my ps5’s defense was;

“Hey, dont insult her, shes still in the box after all”. A joke only the trainee and I enjoyed.

All I could think was why is this wierdo calling my purchased Item wierd? Why does this guy always have a chip on his shoulder? Who put this guy in charge of training other employees? Why is this guy treating me like im a criminal for trading in a console Ive never played on with a bunch of switch and ps4 games in excellent condition being treated like this? Forget the pro member since 2011 okay? It dont matter.

So heres the guy. Pictured in this review. I called corporate and filed a looooong overdue complaint. I will be shopping there again in the coming months to see his development and will file complaint after complaint until theres something done about this guys attitude. Anyway, didnt buy any games that night because of his behavior. I will buy the games elsewhere. I do after all have a new ps5 and being pro member since 2011… I like to buy used games. Be kind to each other!! Peace

Honestly, this place is kind of pointless but I enjoy all of the toys and shirts. This place also always smells like a really stinky boys locker room.

This store needs to do a better job when it comes to buying used items. Three events today that had me questioning management in this store. When customers are in the store you shouldn’t be discussing GameStop policies concerning stocks, along with talking about discussing while training an employee at a register. I am a branch manager, the one thing I don’t talk about is company policies in-front of client’s or customers. Bring the employee to the back for training, especially when you have a line of three people waiting to purchase items. Absolutely bad customer skills. Second issues when buying used items from customers, then selling them to new customers check your items before buying. Situation number one the gentleman in-front of me was returning a used PlayStation five controller, that he explained to the sales associate did not work. Third situation I placed an order online for a used PlayStation five. I had asked the employee to please open up the box. I wanted to make sure cables, the stand along with controller wasn’t damaged. Here is the situation again, as a company all the original cables, accessories should come with the console. The stand was missing with my console which I had asked for, along with the controller was purple. I had asked for the white original controller. Upon coming home checking the cable the original hdmi cable is now a third party cable along with the controller cable. I had paid you guys $50 less then retail for the PlayStation five. I understand it is used however as a company, GameStop you should pride yourself with providing all original components that come with the console. That just shows me as a customer that this location lacks customer service along with you are not strict with how you buy items from other customers. This will be the last time I shop at a GameStop location.

Update August 1st the console over heated two weeks after buying it. GameStop customer service and knowledges They will replace the item if you ship it back. I have a return label that the customer service representative explain Can get back to the store and they can ship it back to wear house. I go into the GameStop store Employee he explains he has no idea how to do a Manager won’t be back until tomorrow. Why not call the manager and ask her how to process A return to send back to the warehouse after Service had explained to me that I have to just drop. GameStop has entirely lost me as a customer Business. Your employees are lazy, not motivated. Lack Customer service skills. I refuse at this Spending any more my money at any of these Of poor judgment to check a consul that overheats, doesn’t Come with original cables, Didn’t With the correct stand also along with correct color of controller. you want to charge somebody $438 for a used PlayStation five consul. At this point putting my faith into GameStop as a company that morals, I should have bought off some one from offer up

Ambience isn't what it once was, I remember waiting in line for midnight releases of GTA V and Call of duty. Everything is digital now. They still have collectables and physical games as well as used consoles and PC accessories. Nostalgia brought me back but it's gonna need some more events like the old days if they gonna survive.

Very accommodating and helpful. I called ahead about an item I was looking for and they had it in stock. The clerk agreed to hold it for me. When I arrived, he was very nice and super professional.

Been shopping here for 20 years. The staff are super helpful and informative. They always confirm when an item is available or unavailable. Easily my favorite place to shop for video games or other cosmetic items. I highly recommend it once. You'll enjoy shopping here.
