Have played here multiple times and love it! Great for walking or riding. Wide variety of holes. It's especially nice to see varying lengths of Par 3's. It's one of those courses that has a really fun layout, not favorable to either a draw or fade. At times the condition is a little sub par. But I'm okay with that as they keep it really affordable. If you haven't subscribed to their emails, make sure to do that because they have special 2 for 1 days and all kinds of deals.

If you like to walk and take your dog with you, beware of the coyotes. One round I was walking with my golden retriever and a coyote starting stalking us, it was like a national geographic moment in the wild...just at the right time, one of the groundskeepers came by in his cart and scared him off. You can see the coyote in the photo.

All that to say, well worth your time for the price.

Worst course conditions I have ever played and that isn’t even the worst part of the day. Tee time was for 11:23 and didn’t tee of until 45+ minutes later, and finished the front 9 3.5 hours later. Ended up paying for 18 but decided to leave after 9 so I didn’t spend 7+ hours there and asked the club house for a discounted rate or some sort of rain check for the “frost delay” that backed the place up and they couldn’t care less. Told me “you shouldn’t expect to finish your round before sundown with an 11:23 tee time” and were aggressive and rude when I simply just asked for a 9 hole rate. Never going here again due to customer service and course conditions (literally had to search for grass in the fairways)

I’ve been playing Old for at least 20 years. I’ve never seen it in the condition it was a few days ago. While it’s never been a top-flight course by any stretch, it was always a decent go-to as far as bang for your buck. It should have been a telltale sign when we were able to fly through the first few holes. That’s saying a ton when it comes to General. Anyone who knows this place knows how infamous it is for slow paced play. The fairways are PAINTED GREEN. They are literally dirt and weeds. BTW thanks for turning the soles of my $100 Nikes turquoise! Good try General. The fairways are bad enough, but if your drive strays just a little off the beaten path, just pick it up and find some semblance of grass. You WILL damage your clubs if you attempt to swing off this concrete type dirt and moreover, you WILL NOT be able to get your ball in the air, especially with a fairway wood. The sand traps are nothing more than dried up mud, most of the tee boxes are overgrown and/or patchy, and the greens are pretty bumpy. Honestly, they ought to be ashamed of themselves charging even $45 in peak hours. If you’re on a budget or just want to enjoy the weather on a not-so-challenging track, save yourself the frustration and play Fairmount twice. Or if you’re going to insist on playing the General, bring your backup set of clubs

Overall good value. The tee boxes are acceptable, the greens are firm and roll true (only minor flaws on some greens). The surrounding green grass cuts are great for chipping and well maintained. The bunkers are very thon, but not entirely rocky, so play a tight lie.

It was our first time there, and the fairways looked really green! Once you ride out there though, you'll notice the fairways are made up of small patches of new grass (review my photos). Overall, sjots in the fairway weren't totally compromised, and when the grass grows more and connects, the fairways will be even! The layout is good for beginners and the greens are challenging for advanced players. Carts are comfy (no GPS), and they have a great practice facility. Grass mats, two chipping greens, and 1 putting area.

It's a cheap course. You get what u pay for. It's a course you play when you have no where else to play. Also, wanted to mention the female bartender, rude as hell. Asked if i could get some ice, and she responded in the most snotty way, "We just don't give out ice, you have to buy a couple of beers". Didn't think ice was such a expensive commodity, other courses provide it with no complaints. Bought a couple of beers and she give me some half a** scoop. Whatever, didn't want to deal with it or her. I just wanted to play some golf.

This is probably the worst course I'd played. Went out to Riverside to play with a friend. 1st time playing this course and most likely last. The fairways are just ok with some dead grass here and there, off the side are pretty much all weeds or dirt. The greens are pretty bad with different shades of colors. Lots of dirt roads, oh, the bunkers are not sands. The Tee box are pretty bad. Fairways are pretty narrow to test your accuracy. I take every complaints back from some of the worst courses in LA. 2 stars for the driving range on grass rather than on the mat.

Play here quite often for practice. Fairly decent course for the price. Do not hit the range in the early morning while the sun is coming up...you will not be able to track your ball! Chipping green and putting greens are great and the 19th hole at the turn is relaxing. Good food and Drinks!

For the price, this is 5 stars. The fairways aren’t in the best shape, but the greens roll 👍 and the tee boxes aren’t bad. And if you go on Mondays they have a hot dog and drink special.
