Made me leave my backpack at the grimy counter. Why treat people like thieves, items in my bag are more valuable than anything in the store. I am more worried about you stealing from me. Shitty policy when goodwill lives off of donations anyway.

Was looking for a long sleeve shirt and men's hawaiian shirts. Found both. Did not know the aloha shirt was $14 instead of $8 regular price until I rang out. Still worth the trip.

I am done. After ruining everything I buy with these horrible goodwill price tags that are horrible to take off, water, scrapping, common! I will not return. The stickers ruin all the products. I paid 10.00 to an item that was ruined (see photo)! EVERYTIME! EXPENSIVE AND DAMAGES THE ITEMS! 💔 Good thing the employees are so sweet!

It's an OK thrift store in Hilo.

On the plus side, it's clean and well organized. People working there are generally helpful and friendly.

The cons are that their prices are kind of high and they don't have a large selection. Maybe it's because of being on a small island. Not sure. But because of the prices and limited selection, I often end up not buying anything from here.

Also, as others have said, the parking can be kind of tricky to get in and out of. If there's space at the back of the parking lot, I think most vehicles should be able to turn around there. I did it in a Ford F150.

Big, spacious store. Friendly staff. Carries a huge count of clothes, home wares, books, toys, some furniture and also sporting goods.

High prices and bad attitudes from the staff. I've worked in this industry so I almost get it.
When I went to make my purchase, cashier says "you didn't have that shirt on when you came in." Why would a person with breasts enter the store topless?
Even If you think all your customers are theft suspects, there's WAY better customer service skills you could use.
I'd guess the store temperature or the stressful parking lot makes the workers unhappy. But the Goodwill workers seem just as surly at air conditioned Pahoa store. So maybe it's the management and/or low wages, or processing the endless tide of rejected consumer goods.
I truly hope they are doing good for somebody with whatever profits they get when a customer finds the occasional item worthy of the unrealistic prices in their sea of mostly nonsense. I've found WAY better quality, prices, and friendly staff at independent thrift stores in Hawaii.
Though I've found gems here in the past, being accused of shoplifting means I'm never wasting my time or money here ever again.

We enjoy goodwills and during our vacation we figured we would stop here while in Hilo, though moreso because I was curious about the supposed world's worst parking lot mentioned in so many reviews. It did not disappoint in that regard LOL, you have to see it to believe it. To add to the experience, we even had someone who pulled in behind us get out of their car to yell at us to make space for her, while we were waiting for a car in front of us to back out, the only way they could physically get out of the lot. The store itself had mostly empty shelves and what was there was the worst I've seen in any thrift shop, goodwill or otherwise. I can't speak for the clothing selection since I was just looking at the other goods. 1 star for the stress and store, 5 stars in hindsight for providing a story to tell about the worlds worst parking lot.
