My son has been attending this school for a year. Coach Erin is wonderful with the kids. My 5 year old has learned a lot from Coach Erin, Coach Daniela and the other coaches. They are what kept us going to the Sandy location. They are attentive to detail and make sure your kid’s technique is correct. Most of the time, it’s 2 kids to 1 coach. They have a kids class at 10 AM which is great for our homeschooling schedule. My son enjoys it. Daniela is super welcoming, friendly and accommodating to your needs. The professor is very knowledgeable and good at keeping the kids disciplined. The evening kids classes are a little crowded, so less attention on each individual child’s technique, imo. Lots of comps in the area to sign up for which is great to give your kid something to work towards.

The professor at this gym is in my opinion, is the best professors in the Gracie Barra Salt Lake County area he make sure you know how to protect yourself in the positions he teach and make sure you understand them so if you’re thinking of going to the Gracie bars for jiu-jitsu, I would go with the Sandy location

Safe place for the white folks but wouldn’t risk it if you are anything other than that. Owners and professors are openly republican so if you are looking to stay safe I would join a more diversity friendly gym.

Cannot say enough good things about Gracie Barra Sandy. My 3 year old daughter, 8 year old son, my husband, and I all joined this year. They have been so incredibly welcoming to all of us and we feel like we have a new family! It’s hard starting something new as an adult but everyone is so kind and helpful, it’s been such a wonderful experience.

A great Gracie Barra gym right here in Sandy. A very knowledgeable staff that cares about their students and are passionate about jiujitsu.

If you have an ego and you need to be babied, this might not be your ideal school. But, if you are open to learning and growing as a jiujitsu athlete, this is a great place to learn the discipline in a safe environment.

At age 33, I walked in a year and half ago with ZERO experience in anything having to do with martial arts and wrestling and now I feel confident that I could defend myself in any situation. They didn't lie when they said "Jiu Jistu is for everyone". There are people of all ages, sizes, genders, and abilities that belong to the school which I love. It is such a fun and positive community and I couldn't be happier that I joined.

My son and I train here and have been attending for about seven months and love it! The environment is fantastic! Community First is a core value, and you can feel it. The professors and coaches ensure you are doing it right, and everyone (including other students) helps everyone make sure they are doing techniques correctly and never left out or left behind. You train at your speed. What a great find for my son and me! We are happy to be a part of the Gracie Barra family.
