I'm going to be homeless now. I am making way less than I did last year when hopelink helped me and this year they are saying I make too much. I got paid for 1 month $1300 and my son got $1400 and that's too much when our rent is $2200 plus all the bills. Hopelink does not care about the community, or if your going to be homeless. Thank you for not even letting my case be reviewed just denied automatically. What a waste of time and gas.

There’s a troubling culture at this organization—one that dehumanizes homeless individuals and lacks the compassion necessary to truly support those they serve. For months now, they’ve held onto my phone and identification, and when I brought it up, I was met with nothing but excuses and attempts to deflect blame. Meanwhile, I’m still left without my phone and important mail.

I can’t help but feel that many of the staff here could be decent people if they weren’t in positions of leadership. Unfortunately, not everyone is suited for decision-making roles, especially when they fail to take responsibility for their actions. I’d advise against hiring individuals who are incapable of admitting fault but seem all too quick to assign blame.

I also want to caution you about what’s being documented in your systems. I’ve already documented instances of dishonesty from the general manager and two caseworkers. One even went so far as to email the county, falsely claiming that I had “declined housing.” In reality, I was given little to no notice about the housing offer and was rushed to dispose of most of my belongings to fit under the "2-bag" policy. The entire experience felt inhumane. I had to escalate the situation directly to the owner to be heard, and only then was I placed in housing—on the same day.

How is this acceptable behavior from an organization that claims to help people in need?

Very unorganized they allow people to cut in line to make you wait even longer. You know it’s not everybody’s business and to make people say what they’re there for etc. in front of everybody is disrespectful to a human race. The place is called Help Of Southern Nevada that means help people in need not being at their lowest you guys don’t even belong being open.

Case workers do not care about you genuinely they only care to get you through the program until ur end date. My case worker was Nancy . She only came to my house when she needed me to sign paper work for her manager. She let me go months without food it was even times where they constantly let my lights go off. I am currently in school and they are telling me they can no longer helped me after my case worker lied and promised to help with an extension due to knowing my hardships. She mad it seem like the the office I was a hostile angry person so they program would no longer help me and they believed her! Not one person even tried to talk to me and ask me how I felt what’s going on or what I have been through with my case worker. The manager she’s a Mexican woman she chooses her case workers sides she doesn’t care about the people when I came in her office (mind you this is our first time ever meeting is when I’m exiting the program) she says “oh where trying to help u” but proceed to say going back being homeless will be the only way they can help again. BEWARE OF THIS PROGRAM the moment they get tired of helping they try to get rid of you using their paper work or saying u didn’t comply wit them!!! I did call the governor as well

As a landlord, this place acts like they care but provide little service to return phone calls, text, emails. They purposely leave their extention off of their emails to avoid being called directly making any situation more difficult.

When the time runs out and we finally get a hold a person they say," no exceptions" even when the lack of communication is on their side.

Good luck if trying to get help

In my eyes this place doesn't help anyone. It's all a big run around all the time you don't never receive all your mail so I really don't have nothing positive to say. But if you want excellent service talk to Autumn

I had a housing assessment in 2023. I was a week from eviction. They said call when you're on the street. So I did they gave me no help. I tried again was told oh, that program ended. I sent an email 2024 she said I was on the housing wait-list. Never heard anything back. Been in and out of weeklies still no decent housing.
I'm 64 it's 2/2025 and now she tells me my assessment expired and I have to be on the street. If I had younger kids I'd have a place to live. They never contacted me or let me know I needed to update anything. I have nothing to shoe of my 64 years. Had to throw my life into a dumpster. And this weekend I will be on the street again.
