I'm not sure that I can even put together the right words to expressed the love and gratitude I have for Hill School. As a parent, we want the very best for our children. When my now 12 year old son started first grade, within the first couple days of school, the office staff called me and his father in for a family meeting. They told us that they didn't feel the school was the right fit for my son. They advised us to seek an educational evaluation as they believed my son had learning disabilities. I was so overcome with emotion in that time. My brother struggled with dyslexia growing up and it played a huge part in the way he viewed education. Looking back at it in hindsight, I have no doubt that every small thing that fell into place to lead us to finding Hill School was nothing short of God's plan. As it would turn out, my son did have dyslexia. I wanted my son to be in an environment that would foster and promote learning, but also be accommodating to his learning styles as they developed. I didn't want him to associate education to negative experiences. We toured another School in Fort Worth and my son attended it for a day on a trial but I just wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be. I scheduled with Hill School and from the moment we walked in the door, I knew I didn't need to look any further. I knew that I didn't have to worry any longer. I felt welcomed with open arm and immediately, all the fears I had for my son were just taken away. And here we are, 6 years later, ending another school year at Hill School, preparing to move up to the 7th grade. I'm not quite sure where the years have gone. But, this School. This School is so much. I know every single day, when I take my son and drop him off, that he is surrounded by people who truly care about him and his success. His teachers know him, his personality, when somethings off, when he needs just a little more attention, space, whatever it may be. He is important to them. I have not a shadow of a doubt that, through Hill school, my son will have everything he needs to go on to be great. Hill School will forever hold the most dear and special place in my heart.

Hill School has been an amazing school for our son. This year will be our 6th year at Hill School and we are so grateful to have found an amazing group of teachers who believe and support their students.

The academics at this school are incredibly poor. The extracurricular opportunities are superb, but the academic program is just too below par for me to recommend this institution to anyone. For those living east of the school, I'd suggest checking out Winston or Vanguard first. (I graduated from Vanguard.)

**EDIT: response to "the owner"**

Hill School was a terrible experience for me. Considering all the learning troubles these students deal with, one would think that emotional issues would accompany them -- and they did, at least for me. The staff was VERY unsympathetic to my issues. I was constantly blamed for my lack of emotional control. They did nothing to help me resolve it and only made it worse. Also, the teachers are a joke. My history/geography teacher thought the protestant reformation occurred in the eleven hundreds, and I will never forget the day she wrote SPANE (instead of Spain) on the board.

If the administrators want these students to succeed, they need to raise their expectations and get these kids on par with their peers. Middle schoolers SHOULD understand direct objects. They SHOULD be reading more challenging books than "Where the Red Fern Grows". Come on, they should be reading Steinbeck. Half the students (7th grade and up) I knew were functionally illiterate and still spelling words phonetically, and couldn't even solve for one variable WITH a calculator.

Administration needs to punch up the curriculum. Challenge these kids. Get them where they need to be. If you have to do it differently -- fine. Accommodate your students. Don't disable them.

This school has been great for our daughter. Finally, a place where teachers understand, recognize and know how to teach kids with various learning styles. Our child is now thriving in school.
