My youngest son was in and out of fairly minor trouble as a teenager, with truancy and a few run ins with the local police. He missed so much school he had to attend the Crossroads school, then refused to do the work and fell so far behind his classmates that he was eventually allowed to quit school when the truancy program ended in Iola.

A month later when he began to regret quitting, neither Crossroads nor the Humboldt Virtual School would accept him as a student until he turned 18. A couple of weeks after his 18th birthday he enrolled in the Humboldt Virtual School. With the support of the staff and because of the student-friendly format of the teaching program, he made up two years worth of work missed within five months and graduated. As far as I'm concerned, this is a great school.
