We took a tour and the tour was well done and very helpful. It gave a good impression that felt authentic and fair. The cost seems low compared to other universities and off campus housing options seem great. Our advisor Ashley was outstanding. Go Bengals!

Idaho State University is a great place for higher learning and it is also accredited. It lies within the beautiful city of Pocatello Idaho, and has lots of classes, certificates and degrees you can accomplish, as well as free classes and materials for getting a G. E. D. Student passes or Id's, can get you discounts on all kinds of school supplies, some classes and lots of activities and events...non-students also enjoy several discounts and sales. It has several co-ed and private roomed dorms, cafés, parks, trails, friendly and learned people and lots of trees and hills. It's very scenic and it's near Scout Mountain, Mink Creek, Targhee National Park, downtown Pocatello, Salt Lake City Utah, Sun Valley Idaho and Yellowstone National Park, Montana...(west entrance). They have a discount theatre, plays, game rooms, bowling alley, Swimming pool, gyms, student lounges, exciting and adventurous activity's, a student union, playing fields, parks, trails and large outdoor common areas. It's pet friendly...leashes required, and is also the home to the Holt Arena, formerly known as the ISU Minidome.

It's my Alma Mater, the degree I received from them has been useful and beneficial. My only gripe is the lack of community involvement, the lack of community support (because of the poor advertising). If you didn't know ISU was in Pocatello, it wouldn't change anything. I wish they would do more for the community to get them involved and supportive. Normally that comes from winning in sports, etc but it's a catch 22, they have to do some winning first invest in the local community, and then the support will follow but it's tricky and harder to win without support first. All in all, it's fixable but needs to be fixed urgently!

I graduated from ISU 30 years ago from the business school and was a transplant to the area from So. Cal. Many of the textbooks we used were the same used in ivy league schools like Harvard, so it came down to the professors. Some were great and others just okay, probably like anywhere else. In the end, college is what you make of it, no matter where you go. I enjoyed ISU and the area and chose to settle here and raise my kids, they turned out awesome! I have a really good job at the INL and will retire in Pocatello to live out my days. I love the outdoors here, the people, the low cost of living and not waiting in line! Go Bengals!

This place is a liberal minded institution. They have quit offering the Holt arena to local and regional events. Now we have to travel over 2 hours for wrestling tournaments that have been here in Pocatello fornover 10 years. This hurts the wrestlers and community of Pocatello. This is not an institution that supports it community. They only take and never give back.

I started out my college carerr at ISU and transferred to the University of Idaho after two years. I did not feel that the science courses were very high quality as a lot of the introductory courses are very large, and some are even taught by graduate students, which is typical of public universities. The foreign language department classes and professors were pretty good. However, I don't think that professors get treated very well by universities' administration. If you want a better experience, I recommend applying to the Honor's program. I now am in dental school at a prestigious Ivy League School, so if you work hard at any of Idaho's state schools, you can take your education anywhere.
