Yesterday, I drove up to Hyrum, UT to support Josh and Maylean with some photography for their new jiu-jitsu studio—J-Crew Jiu-Jitsu—and to get a couple of rolls in myself. I was genuinely impressed. The energy in the space was welcoming and focused, and you could immediately tell that a strong community is forming here. Josh and Maylean have created something special: a clean, well-designed mat space, thoughtful instruction, and a culture that clearly values both discipline and friendliness. Whether you're new to jiu-jitsu or a seasoned practitioner, this is a place worth checking out.

Myself and two of my kids have started training here. We all have so much fun. The kids love the kids classes and I have loved learning a new skill. Coaches Josh and Maylean really take time with their students to make sure everyone is learning correctly and working hard. And as a woman, they do an amazing job making sure I feel safe and comfortable with everything we learn and do.

dropped in for a class while I was in town and had an awesome experience at J-Crew . From the moment I walked in, the coaches and students made me feel welcome. The instruction was top-notch—detailed, clear, and practical—and the training partners were skilled, respectful, and rolled with good control. You can tell there’s a strong team culture here, with an emphasis on learning and supporting one another. Whether you’re passing through or looking for a place to train long-term, this gym is definitely worth checking out. I’ll be back anytime I’m in the area!

Coach Josh is insanely knowledgeable! I had the opportunity to train with him and was impressed by his professionalism, teaching skills and CONFIDENCE. I witnessed him roll and was star-stuck to see how calm & collected he looked. His experience is evident. He was extremely helpful and patient while teaching.
