I love this school! We have been with John Adams Academy for 4 years now and it has been more than I hoped for! The teachers are kind and caring and the administration is professional and also extremely caring. We have a 504 plan for one of my daughters and we've had difficult challenges to overcome. We worked like a team with the staff and they have gone over and above to accommodate our family and the needs of our daughter. One of the teachers even came to a training with our behavioral therapist during the summer on her own time to better understand our daughter and help her. We have been met with love , kindness and professionalism every step of the way and I am so thankful!

We have been with this school for past two years and I am very pleased with the way everything works. The administration officials are very helpful and willing to work with you no matter of the circumstances or situations. All teachers are there to help kids learn and become good individuals. I am very happy about school uniform as well as it makes so much easier to deal with kid’s clothes choices. I would recommend this school to everyone who cares about their kids education. Great school!!

My daughter has been at John Adams Academy Lincoln for 2 years and we've been very pleased with our decision to go with John Adams Academy. It's refreshing to know that not only is my daughter receiving a fantastic education but she is also surrounded by an amazing community of parents and staff. The patriotism is just the icing on the cake. We cannot wait for the beautiful new campus next year!

Great facility. Beautiful. Picking up your scholar was easy and organize. Hope to aee what it would be like with the school on full day schedule because I was not impress with the academics. Kids are not given homework, and no challenge. They should have Math classes all school year.
2021--22 school year, the school still did not have a good Math teacher the kids did not learn. It will be tough for them when they move to high school.
The school did not even have a promotion for their 8th graders because it goes against their policy not to honor the students who did not really pass 8th grade. And at the expense to those who did well. This is the only in Placer County who did not celebrate the promotion of their 8th graders. Very disappointing.

My children have blossomed under this Classical Education model in a way I feel they wouldn't have in other schools. The 10 core values teach our children to have strong characters that have integrity and thoughtfulness for their fellow men/women. I love that because of the environment our teachers and staff try hard to create my children are excited for school each day, and full of stories of things they learned when they come home at the end of the day. I've also had very good experiences with my child, the teachers, and special ed staff regarding that particular childs IEP.

I'm both a parent and an employee of JAA so I'll give my experience with both.

As a parent:
When I first heard of John Adams Academy I was interested with how different it seemed from other schools. Over the years, my 12 year old has experienced public school, private school, and homeschooling so I was eager to see what the difference would be with a public charter. The structure and core values that John Adams Academy focuses on are extremely grounding for my son. He's a child who needs routine and clear expectations but not in a militant or harsh environment. JAA provides the perfect foundation of teaching values such as respect, service to others, independence, and accountability. On top of building my son's character, the educational model at John Adams Academy really benefits him! My son also has a 504 plan and I have appreciated the process the school has in place in regards to meeting with me as a parent, listening to concerns, and ensuring a smooth transition and experience for my son.
My daughter will be starting Kindergarten next year and will be joining the JAA Family as well!

As a teacher:
I have 8 years of experience in education and have worked in different schools and districts. I first heard about JAA when I decided to enroll my son and became very interested in the classical education model the school is based on so when I realized they had open positions I jumped for the chance to apply. The classical education model is so beneficial for children and really taps into how they learn best. JAA has such quality educators and the staff and admin truly look out for children's best interests. I'm impressed with the amount of collaboration and support among staff and the school community is my favorite part of JAA. The school is very aware of the differences in learning and have a daily intervention period called WIN (What I Need) that focuses on individual scholars' specific needs whether that is additional support due to needing to strengthen skills or enrichment opportunities for scholars who need the additional challenge. I have always been the type of teacher that wants to not only teach academics but teach children how to be productive members of society and the school's core values really embrace that.

Overall, JAA is a fantastic school - unique in its approach to education and instilling of core values. I could not be more pleased with my experience as a parent and an educator!

Not allowing kids to play on their play equipment during a school soccer game in the heat because it's a "liability". This school is such a disgrace to everything they supposedly believe in. Shame on you for calling the police all because our three and four year wanted to be out of the hot sun and play on the equipment by the field.

Kids have started their 3rd year there. So far so good, except for the food they serve in the cafeteria. If I could rate that separately, they would get 1 star.
