I’ve seen both of our kids move up successfully in both reading & math. They have also transitioned in their TK, Kinder and 1st grade classrooms easily because of Kumon.

I have had 2 of my kids go through Kumon over many years. It really helps fill in the gaps in their Math and Language Arts classes. The way that Kumon is set up really allows the kids to fully grasp a concept by going over it multiple times. I have seen my kid’s confidence increase to where they look forward to the Kumon work because they know it will help their school work. Mrs. P has always been very good with my kids and addresses all of my co concerns when they come up.

We have been at Kumon in Roseville for only a month and we see an immediate change in our first grader. I would highly recommend this center if you are looking to improve your child’s math skills. Ever since we have seated, my child has shown great improvement especially with mental math! The instructors are patient and encouraging, and they’ve been really supportive in helping him progress at his own pace. While the repetition can be a bit much sometimes, the overall approach has really helped boost his confidence in math.

Supporting our child to help improve their knowledge and confidence has been a struggle. We attempted to help at home but it caused a lot of conflict between us, I’m sure other parents can relate. We were looking for support that would remove our need to be super involved because our child responds much better to teachers and outside help. At first, Kumon seemed like it would be a great option, but unfortunately it wasn’t. There isn’t a lot of instruction - your kids go twice a week and just work on pages while they are there, they don’t receive tutoring or instruction as I expected. The pages don’t have lessons in them, they are just practice work over and over. So if they struggle they get a quick explanation and then go off to try it again. Our daughter figured out she could submit pages online with nothing done and make it look to us like she was doing the work, and then it would get re-sent back as corrections that she would do later or re-submit blank again. This went on for over 3 weeks and no one at the center noticed or brought it to our attention - even when we requested an update they just told us it was taking longer because she was having to do a lot of “correcting”. So we basically paid for a month without any progress. The online tool is not set up for easy oversight or progress monitoring for parents either. When you want to cancel you have to pay for another month or two because of the notice period they require. Be careful getting locked into the 6 month contracted period too… I would recommend finding a more hands on tutoring service with more flexible terms. Or save your money and just buy grade level workbooks from Amazon for a small fraction of the price!

Kumon has been extremely helpful for my son. He's in 5th grade and was falling a bit behind his grade. Since we started, he has been bringing home passing grades on all of his math tests and is very proud of himself, as am I. This program is excellent.
