I have been taking my three children to the San Rafael Kumon for the past 10 years! My last child is finally phasing out and I wanted to rave about how wonderful this Kumon Center is. Bianna is amazing and she has been very flexible with us always. Her demeanor is calm and collective and brings a sense of joy to the center. Krista, who works at the front desk, is beyond sweet and always cheery! The teachers that guide the children really have patience and much confidence in the children. My three kids are such confident math students! The public elementary schools do not focus on math facts etc and Kumon gives the repetition and math fact knowledge they need to complement what they are learning in school. I would highly recommend Kumon, San Rafael Center to anyone interested in increasing their child's math or reading confidence. It takes time and dedication from both the child and the parent, but if you are interested in helping your child succeed whether your child naturally understands math and reading or not, then you should make the dedication to Kumon. My senior now, says she gives her math confidence to Kumon in her early years. Now she is graduating from H.S. and heading to a fabulous UC! I'm a believer and I'm proud to have added Kumon into our family's lives. Thank you Kumon San Rafael!

Kumon has been a wonderful academic enrichment program for our daughter for the past three years. I truly believe the confidence, skills, and academic commitment she has stems from Kumon. My 3 boys have been attending Kumon now for several years. I trek from Mill Valley to take my kids to San Rafael twice per week, despite crazy schedules, as a testament to how much this is a priority in our family. What I love about Kumon is that it is the perfect complement to the Common Core curriculum that is practiced at the public schools. They learn math from an entirely different approach, which makes them very strong, confident, fast math learners. They also are exposed to reading topics that they would normally not choose to read, but then learn to appreciate. They have actually asked me to check out the full novel from the library after reading short passages from their Kumon pages. Worksheets are timed, and they learn to not only answer accurately, but quickly.

What I also love about Kumon, is that it teaches my kids time management. They have learned to expect that they have to finish their work EVERY DAY, despite sports, schoolwork, etc., so they now independently do their work in between their other commitments. This is an important life skill that I do not feel can be easily taught.

The Kumon method is a time-honored approach to learning math and reading, that was started by a teacher in Japan. It is highly successful, but requires a strong commitment. If the kids are not engaged (and supported at home) 100%, then they will not gain any of the benefits of this program. I can honestly say that my children are more confident and smarter learners, directly because of their Kumon experience.

Very positive experience. The owner of this location goes above and beyond to create a friendly and stimulating environment for students. Her dedication to her students is evident in every aspect of the center. And the kids are happy to come here! I definitely recommend it to any parent looking for supportive supplementary education for their child.
