We are so happy with our experience so far at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool!

Miss Sam, Miss Adrienne, and Miss Luby are so welcoming, enthusiastic, and attentive! I look forward to seeing them each morning at drop off.

Highlights of my experience at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool include the amazing staff that is genuinely invested in my daughter’s experience, learning, health, and development. They have an incredibly easy to use app where I see my daughter engaging in many fun and new activities each day via photos and videos! The facilities are clean and clearly well designed to meet the children’s and teacher’s needs. I appreciate the weekly menus filled with healthy, unique food offerings. I feel so lucky that they puree and offer foods as needed to my nearly 10 month old! I’ve even used their weekly meal plans to help plan meals for her; as a first time mom, they are an invaluable resource.

I highly recommend Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and, if you’re considering enrolling, wholeheartedly encourage you to DO IT!

We started at Little Sunshine’s shortly after it opened and have been so happy with the decision. My daughter stayed home for the first year and a half so sending her to daycare was a big deal to us. We toured a lot and did a lot of research; we picked Little Sunshine’s due to the location for us, the cleanliness of the facility, the care and communication of the director April, and the overall philosophy of the school. Now, two months later all those reasons still are true. The first week our daughter had a hard time adjusting but thanks to the patience of her teachers she quickly adapted and now looks forward to school and getting to play with her friends. I know she is with people who care for her and create an environment of fun.

We have had an amazing experience at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool. After being home with my kids for so long this was a big change for us but the leadership and teachers have made it so smooth! Our son has learned so much already. My wife and I moved to Elkhorn about 6 months ago and we were nervous about starting our daughter at a new daycare as we loved our old place. Long story short we did not have the best initial experience with a place in Elkhorn as our daughter never seemed to get accustomed. We decided to look elsewhere for new care and were blown away by the team at Little Sunshine's Playhouse. For reference our daughter cried almost every morning for 4 months at the original place we chose in Elkhorn for care. Within the first week of starting care at LSP she stopped crying at drop off and even runs to see Haleigh and Lah in the mornings. I can't express how much it means to us that our daughter loves to go to daycare. Makes our days so much easier. The communication here is remarkable and would recommend LSP Elkhorn South to anyone looking for childcare!

We just recently joined LSP and I have to say Elkhorn South is expert in hiring capable and loving employees. My Daughter is in Avonlea in the twos room with Miss Destini and Miss Mariah. Our previous daycare was poor in communication and curriculum. Even though my daughter was two she wasn’t growing. But after only a few weeks with miss Destini and Miss Mariah my daughter is counting with her fingers. Tracing images and more articulate with her words. LSP IS MAGICAL! If you are looking for a place of care. Where there are teachers you trust and management that is compassionate and supportive then LSP is the place to be!

Miss Haleigh and Miss Lah have been such a blessing to our toddler. They are so patient, kind, and loving. It’s so nice having people we can trust with our toddler. We have had such a pleasant experience with them and Miss April. You can tell they really love what they do and are so excited to see us everyday. They spoil us with many photos and updates which we love!!! They also have an excellent curriculum and food menu! I highly recommend LSP!

The director, April, provided my husband and I with a tour of Little Sunshine Playhouse(LSP) a few months before the opening of the Elkhorn South location. We were impressed with the school’s security features, safety features, curriculum, daily updates, experienced teachers, knowledgeable/engaged director, and much much more. After the tour, we immediately reserved a spot of our child to start as soon as Elkhorn South opened.

Since the first day of our child’s enrollment at LSP, we’ve been very happy with the care provided. I feel secured in placing my child with LSP. There is always someone at the front desk to ensure that authorized family members/personnel are entering the facility in addition to many other security features. There is even a built in tornado shelter to protect the kids.

We are provided with a monthly Newsletter with upcoming events, curriculum overview, etc. I get daily updates on what and how much my child is eating, potty training records, pictures, what they are learning and much more. Our child’s teachers, Destini and Mariah, are amazing. They communicate any concerns immediately and work with us on any issues we have. One of the telltale sign of great teachers are your child’s behavior/attitude towards the teachers. Although not all kids can clearly verbalize their feelings, you can see it in their body language and interactions. My child loves her teachers and is happy/excited to go to her school everyday.

Everyday, I am thankful that my child is enrolled at LSP. Outside of the pictures and daily updates, I can also tell that she is learning at school even at 2 years old because I am frequently surprised by her use of new vocabulary and knowledge. I love that LSP provides activities such as yoga, dance express, soccer, etc without requiring parents to pay an extra fee. All of the children participate instead of sitting out of the activity because parents can’t afford so many extracurricular activities. Although the school is a little more expensive, this alone adds to the value of the care/services provided.

The school operating hours are great and they are only closed on major holidays (New Years, Christmas, July 4th, Memorial Day, labor day and Thanksgiving). Our other daycare was close for two weeks between Christmas and New Years. I love my kids but two weeks at home with a very high energy toddler is a lot. But since LSP is only closed a few days per year, this gives my husband and I some time to ourselves for self-care when we are given other holidays off from our jobs outside of using vacation days. Another pro is that the school provides daily snacks and lunch. So I don’t have to pack my daughter anything in the morning which saves me a lot of time. When my second child starts daycare, I only have to supply diapers and change of clothes. The school provides wipes and formula for babies. This definitely does not happen at our previous daycares.

Although Elkhorn South LSP just opened, April has been working diligently to ensure the school staffs the right teachers to care of our children. I cannot say enough great things about her team and the school. After experiencing several other daycares, Elkhorn South LSP stands out far above them all.

It’s a little cheesy but run, don’t walk. Enroll your kids at Elkhorn South LSP.

We really love little sunshine’s preschool and daycare. The entire staff is amazing but especially miss Maddie. She’s very patient, kind and has great techniques in teaching the kids how to be more independent and creative.
