We absolutely love Little Sunshine’s Playhouse North! We are blessed to be one of the founding families. Our little one loves his new school and comes home excited to share what he learned. Ms. Morgan, Allison and Amanda have all been incredible. We appreciate the open communication and all the things they do to make learning fun. The building is beautiful and I love the double-secured facility. We are always greeted warmly when entering the building. It makes my mama heart happy to know that my son feels loved. <3 Thank you for all you do!

When we enrolled our children in this center, we hoped for a safe, clean, and supportive environment. Unfortunately, what we’ve encountered has been far from that expectation. It’s a pretty picture on the outside but on the inside pure opposite of what they sell which is sad when we had high hopes.

The staffing issue which tells a huge red flag that the leadership is toxic. It seems day to day there is only one teacher assigned to care for 13-15 children at drops offs, it’s clear the staff are stretched too thin, which impacts safety and attention.

The turnover rate is incredibly high, with teachers and staff leaving constantly. My children have had 5-6 teachers thus far and the centers only been open for 10 months… and the turnover in their classroom is going on 5 different teachers in past 4 months. Meanwhile, the director and assistant director not only fail to address concerns but often respond by gaslighting or even blatantly lying to parents. It’s frustrating and erodes our trust in the center’s leadership.

Our primary concern is for our child’s well-being, and right now, we’re questioning if this center can truly provide the safe, supportive environment they promised.

My husband and I can’t say enough positive remarks about Little Sunshine’s. They are fantastic all-around. We were nervous to send our 3 month old son to daycare, but we could not have asked for a better place. They update you throughout the entire day, and it’s reassuring knowing he has such a high quality of care. We love Ms. Ashley and team in the infant room, they take such great care of our son!

I’d like to update my review since my daughter is in a new classroom. The teachers, Ms. Jocelyn and Ms. Chelsea are AMAZING! My daughter’s behavior at home is an easy indicator and if there are issues at school, she shows it through her emotions at home. Every day at pick up she is happy and excited to tell me about her day. She tells me she loves school! On the weekends she even pretends she is Ms. Jocelyn and reads her stuffies books.

In my experience, LSP remains the best school in West Omaha/Elkhorn, and from what I know, turnover has been minimal. My child is happy, demonstrates healthy emotions, and shows growth in confidence, which tells me she’s in a great school environment.

We are so grateful for Little Sunshine! My 2.5 year old has thrived and loves to go to school everyday (even asks to go on the weekend)! She talks about Ms. Christina and Ms. Courtney every day and loves the new floater Lauren as well. Soon our infant will be starting. We couldn’t feel better with our decision to send our kids to LSP. We recently moved from Pasadena, CA and feel Little Sunshine is an elite preschool nationwide. Thank you Allison and Amanda and to all of the Avonlea teachers ❤️❤️❤️❤️

As a parent and a long-time school district employee, I want to share my experience with this preschool in hopes it helps other families make informed decisions. While the school provides adequate care, there are deeper issues that parents should be aware of.

One significant concern is the high staff turnover. Consistency is critical for young children, and frequent staff changes make it difficult for kids to feel secure and build trust. This instability directly impacts children’s emotional well-being and development. For parents considering this school, I recommend asking about how often staff turnover occurs and how leadership is addressing it.

Another issue is the toxic environment created by leadership tolerating, or even engaging in, gossip and drama. A professional, supportive atmosphere is essential for both staff and families, but instead, the community here feels divisive. Drama among parents is not unusual, but when it’s mirrored or fueled by leadership, it undermines the school’s credibility. Strong leaders should be role models, focused on fostering a safe and respectful environment for everyone.

Positives: The facility is usually clean, and basic childcare needs are met. However, these basics should be a given, not the only highlights. Preschools should go beyond “adequate” by creating a nurturing, drama-free environment where children, staff, and families feel valued and supported.

Suggestions for Improvement:
1. Address high staff turnover with clear strategies for retention, such as better support and training for employees.
2. Implement professional development for leadership to eliminate gossip and focus on creating a positive culture.
3. Prioritize open and constructive communication with parents to rebuild trust and transparency.

To parents: If stability and professionalism are priorities for you, it’s worth exploring other options or asking detailed questions about these issues before enrolling.

To leadership: This feedback is not meant to attack but to encourage growth. Leadership sets the tone for everything, and addressing these problems will improve the experience for children, staff, and families alike.

My son is 3 and currently in the Arendelle preschool room. Miss. Kris and Mr. Kellan are incredibly, supportive and invested in my son and all the kids development. They are truly special. It’s a place where our children are treated with respect, care, consideration, empathy and learn naturally through play. My son has grown so much during his time here.

Our son has always had a difficult time with transitions. Mostly morning drop offs. Miss. Angelica has helped tremendously with this. I can’t thank my son’s teachers enough for the love and support they show my son. I know he is in great hands while he is at Little Sunshine’s!

Sunshine Playhouse has been an amazing experience for our family. The team and teachers are so caring and attentive. We love the curriculum and activities for our child’s development, especially the outdoor time. Our child is happy when we drop him off and when we pick him up. We can tell he is cared for and has grown so much during his time there. As parents, we also appreciate the amenities and services; knowing nutritious meals and snacks are provided, regular updates through an easy to use app, the ease of red carpet drop off and most importantly, that our child is well taken care of by Miss Angela and Miss Kellie.

Beware of This Daycare’s Waitlist Scam!

We were excited about this daycare after their big opening ceremony in January 2024. They encouraged everyone to enroll, but on the day they opened, they were already full, and we were immediately placed on a waitlist. We’ve now been on this waitlist for nearly 10 months, with no progress. Our desired start date has long passed, and we’re still waiting.

To join the waitlist, we had to pay a $350 non-refundable deposit. Before making this payment, they were very persistent with calls, making it seem like securing a spot by our desired date was realistic. However, once we paid, the communication stopped entirely. As the start date approached, they fell back on their “non-refundable” policy, which feels unfair. If there was no guarantee of a spot, why pressure families into paying the deposit?

To make matters worse, my daughter was supposedly offered a spot, but later they claimed they had no record of it. The whole process seemed biased, and we felt favoritism played a role in how spots were allocated. I have a record of when I enrolled my child and when other parent enrolled their child and I was put on a waitlist after them even though I enrolled before them.

This daycare’s practices feel like a scam. If you’ve experienced something similar, please report it. Stay away from this place and save yourself the stress and disappointment!
