This library is impeccably run. An excellent selection of books, a clean and professional looking building, nice looking art on the walls, and an area where you can quietly read or play games or whatever else. Not quite a conference room per se but works for quiet events with friends. The bathroom was also kept pretty clean and the employees have always been very nice m

Great place for keeping cool, studying, tutoring, reading books, browsing, working on a computer, seeing old acquaintances, and borrowing books and DVDs and CDs.

Bad place for people who understand how to use headphones/earbuds and would use them to not be a social nomad.

Terrible for people who feel untoward
being forced listening to phone conversations.

Also a no-go zone for people who know that cursing up a storm in a public setting is nothing but arrogance.

A few examples.

1. Guy is on a work Zoom call, doesn't speak, but does have the audio loud enough to cause bystanders to move away from not wanting to hear confidential company information.

2. Lady talks on the phone, with enough volume that normal people look askance and shuffle off.

3. Dude on computer spewing profanities to any who would listen, including children nearby. Besides that, he seemed nice enough.

It'd be wise if staff would shush them, lest the unacceptable decorum increase. Used to be a great place.

I have been very dissatisfied overall with this particular branch of Lompoc library..There have only been one or two librarians that have extended themselves to assist me. One of . them was named Phyllis, who was very patient and knowledgeable, and did her very best to help me find the materials I was looking for . Another one was a gentleman ( and I.mean that in every sense of the word!) But for the life of me I cannot remember his name. I believe he wore glasses, wasn't too tall( maybe 5'7") and had either a mustache, beard or possibly both. Like Phyllis he was very knowledgeable, patient, and courteous, and assisted me in logging on to the computer and printing some things I had needed to type. The assistance I received from these two individual librarians was invaluable, and desperately needed at the time. Some of the younger employees either had a smart aleck attitude or insufficient time to help THIS particular disabled SENIOR library patron, so I am VERY grateful for staff like Phyllis and her male counterparts. Their knowledge and courteous attitude means a great deal more than one may realize, and the younger and less experienced staff could learn a great deal from these more experienced , mature counterparts. In the one gentleman's case, he told me that he hadn't worked at this branch very long so he sought out a more experienced librarian to help him assist me. This demonstrated great wisdom and humility on his part( unlike the smart mouth know it all that REALLY offended me one of my first visits to this library branch. I have since avoided this particular employee and one of her young counterparts. I hope that they take the hint and start treating seniors and the DISABLED with a little more courtesy in future. Otherwise I would have given the library a higher overall score. Also, if they woukd provide more remedial reading and crafting classes, it would be greatly appreciated by patrons like myself. Also make available MORE classic movie showings/ discussion groups as well (movies without profanity and other offensive conten

Theo was absolutely incredible and patient helping my 5-year old daughter with obtaining her first library card. He answered her questions and showed her how to use the kiosk. Keep up the great work Lompoc Library! 🥰

Library is good, but I think we might have gone on an off day. Staff was less than friendly. It was disheartening because I have always found peace at the library and my kids didn't get that experience here.

We went to the library to view a friend's artwork. Had time to look around. Librarian was super nice and helpful showing where the exhibit was. Lots of kids coming and going. Exactly what a library should be. I'm impressed.

Always enjoy coming here with my kids. The kids section is great, sometimes we just come so they can get their homework done in a place other than home. I always manage to find something interesting to read...for hours and hours. Staff is very polite and friendly.

Was there for an exhibit of beautiful framed photos by Jan Deputy-Louy. Those had to be the finest photographs I have ever seen taken of people in far away places. This photographer has an eye and shares her travels through her photographs.

Its a must to see and equally as gratifying to read about her journeys to obtain such art.
