I love the high energy and love I feel whenever I’m on the campus of Los Angeles Trade Technical College. From the President Instructors and frontline staff LATC, it has the feel of a family on purpose to facilitate the development of professional level technical skills. I’ve gone from student to proud parent of a student in the Design and Media school. We attended the Golden Thimble fashion showcase at least three times and each time the designers outdid the previous show. This last time one student designed a full furry costume for the avant- guard theme. We missed Ms Jackson but they sent in an excellent host who was well dressed and exuded the fashion design spirit. I hope he comes back with Ms Jackson. Many of the schools on campus come together to put on a fabulous fashion show production. I always look forward to the cookies of the culinary arts department. Enjoy the show through my eyes. Until the next one. Our son has been a featured model, coming soon he will be a featured designer: Naheim Yusuf, of the house of Yahsoul.

This school has the worst counselors and just office staff in general. I don’t know if they are being lazy or just careless. Maybe both. Counselors give students wrong information which makes it hard for students like me that have a full time job, to handle our issues. I took so many classes I didn’t need for my major due to this. The phones are never answered so your next step is to send emails, but the emails never get answered either. So you have to miss a day of work to be able to drive down to the school to talk to someone. The way the offices are set up are so messy, so they lose your documents and you have to resend them. I just submitted my petition to graduate and I told one counselor about it, Rebekah Blonshine. She said that it was okay. A couple of days later I scheduled an appointment with a different counselor in person because I received an email saying student petitions to graduate are rejected because they are supposed to be submitted by counselors. Rebekah did not mention that to me all. I had to miss work to do this, to make sure that they do their jobs right. I could go on and on to be honest. But yea they suck.

I am currently in the third semester taking the carpentry program. Los Angeles Trade Technical College is a great school. October will be 3 years that I have been attending this college. I also got my GED through Trade Tech. The majority of the professors and staff are very respectful and kind.

Update I finished the carpentry program and found a job in the construction field with great pay. I would definitely recommend Los Angeles Trade Tech Technical College to someone that wants to learn a trade or just take some classes. If you do decide to go put all your effort in your studies it will pay off.

I finished the Electrical and Maintenance program of Fall 2022 and I can confidently say this is a really good opportunity for those willing to learn a specialized trade and make an excellent career out of it. I managed to graduate debt free with an associate degree thanks to some of the programs like EOPS and College Promise. The campus itself may not be nice like at ELAC, but the people here for the most part are friendly and welcoming. The education I got here is practical and up to date and would suggest those wanting to work in the electrical industry to study here. The only thing I had to pay out of my pocket would be the tools, but that’s a small price to pay for, for investing in the future.

The experience of being there is crazy. The people there are so nice and helpful. Now things may look confusing and a bit much but you just gotta ask for help. Love going to the classes (some) 😁
