I called for an appointment for our Red Hat group. Our group showed up on the appointment date and time which was at 1:00pm on Thursday. We waited 20 minutes in the heat but no one showed up to open the museum. We were all prepared to make a donation so I don't understand this. I know the place operates on volunteers but I gave the person my phone number so a call would have been appreciated if the volunteer could not be there.

Great museum full of the areas history. If you are staying anytime in Yerington and you are looking to kill afew hours, I definitely recommend this place. Tom was very knowledgeable and more than happy to show us around.

This place is deceiving! There is soooo much to see!!! The volunteers there were very friendly and informative. Free to enter but definitely leave them a donation. You will not be disappointed stopping by.

Love this place, have since I was a kid. Worth the trip for local history. Cool train exhibit the kiddos love. History of anaconda mine and the copper belt rail road. Vintage blacksmith tool set and shop on display. Period correct schoolhouse exibit and original textbooks. Great local rock and mineral exibit. Local animals and critters on display in another, mounted of course. If you haven't stopped in at this local gem you are so missing out! Well worth a drive and hunt rocks or checkout the local casinos.
