The building looks a bit like a lake from distant hills and mountains. San Rafael is a wonderful town in a fantastic county. This building is a wonder. It is quite like a museum... only it is a real county building serving all of the people of Marin... and visitors. The cafeteria on the second floor is excellent for breakfast and lunch. It includes an outdoor garden with tables. That place is unbelievable. The people who work in the building are the best people you will ever find in this or any country. You can have breakfast with them. The elegant old phone booths are still there, without telephones... but you can imagine what it must have been like. I hope that they keep the booths for cell phone use. Sitting down in a comfortable quiet private Frank Lloyd Wright booth... what a beautiful world this is. Across the street is the Frank Lloyd Wright post office... owned by every American citizen. A short distance away is the Auditorium, and a beautiful water park. There are many events at the Civic Center and in that vicinity. Check Internet. Many nice hotels and downtown 4th Street in San Rafael is a masterpiece.

The building and the cafeteria are worthy of several hours. If you are in the area long... you will return.

Awful behavior from "servants" of the people. They think they rule public spaces, and they are very confused about the 1st amendment.

Decent price for good food. Great balcony when weather permits
