Bad reviews are for the phone number. The in-person visits, however, are very pleasant! The employees are patient and very helpful. It's not their fault that the phone tree is impossible.

What a solid institution, they are always able to help, this staff knows what they're talking about and if you are patient with them they will be all the more loquacious. When it comes to a staff that knows the books it is this group

Disclaimer: the past 5 years I have lived in both , Marin county and Clovis (Fresno county) due to complex health issues that have had me living in both counties over a period of 6 years. The Marin county staff throughout this time frame have consistently botched paperwork, failed to update required information when presented to them multiple times, and have proven their incompetence multiple times. No one has ever taken responsibility and they gaslight you EVEN with proof of their mistake in front of their eyes. They were rude, condescending, sarcastic/mocking and treated me as if I were the loon. I’ve had 2 sister agencies in Fresno county DUMBFOUNDED by the mistakes they had to fix from Marin county. I had 2 different Fresno county representatives in upper management call Marin county on my behalf and scold them for their smugness and inability to do a simple task. IT WAS THAT BAD. I am happily moving back to Clovis to get back on my feet and have some assistance from people who have empathy and who take pride I. There jobs. Thank you Fresno County. Marin County Services, kick rocks….it’s about all you are good for.

They don't answer the phone (you go through prompts and enter info and then they disconnect). The online chat doesn't work. You can't leave a message or email. I can't give zero stars so it got a one.

Aside from having to visit twice, whenever I was there and the staff were also, they gave me enough time to listen to my problem issues and try to fix it! I felt they were a aware of clients problems and took enough time without looking his/her shoulder for peer judgement. I was particularly impressed with

I am a parent of two kids in the San Rafael High school district. We’ve been struggling with the decision of whether not to keep the kids home from school during the fires. The Air quality hazardous particulate matter count has been close to 200 and yet the Department of Health and Human Services has insisted it is still safe for the children to go to school. Many of the San Rafael schools are set up in such a way that the children have to go outdoors between classes. After a week of hazardous air pollution it is likely that classrooms are as polluted as the outdoors. My children say there are no special filtration systems in place in their classrooms.
We are not given the choice to keep our children home from school. Their grades or affected when they miss classes and there is been no offer for them to make up missed work after the smoke clears.
The marine Health and Human Services department is not watching out for her kids And they are limiting our ability to protect them by making us choose between the lesser of two evils.
