I have 2 children, ages 7 and 5 and we have been at Marina Montessori for three years. I cannot say enough great things about this school. The teachers have all been caring, compassionate and creative in their teaching. I am very happy with their curriculum and the teachers have always spent time with my kids making sure they are learning and not following behind when certain concepts have been difficult for them to grasp. Everyone is very personable and you can tell they know each and every student personally. My son was very nervous about starting school and they went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and at ease. As a mom, it is so reassuring to drop your kids off at a school they love. I drop them off and pick them up happy and they can’t wait to tell me all the fun things they did at school. They love their teachers and their school!

My son and I have been apart of the Marina Montessori family for 3 years. Choosing this school for my son has been the best decision I have ever made in regards to his educational development. The teachers here are amazing and it shows not only through their teaching skills but also through the personal connections they have with each child. My son has learned so much during his time at Marina Montessori and in my opinion he is far more advanced then he would have been had he stayed in public school. Marina Montessori provides a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment for children as well as a “home away from home” feel. So if you are looking for an extraordinary school for your child/children look no further!!

WHAT I LOVE:
The staff at Marina Montessori is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education. Let me tell you, it shows! My son has been attending MMS now for almost 4 years. He loves telling me all about his day (in detail) and I love hearing it. Compassionate Teachers = Successful Learners.

WHAT MY CHILD LOVES:
Truly looks forward to attending school everyday. He loves reading!

DISLIKES:
Knowing that one day he will "age out" of Marina Montessori. However, he has a rock solid foundation to transition onto Elementary School, when that time comes.

My child is now six years old. He has attended marina Montessori school since he was two. His academic level is extremely advanced, due to the Montessori curriculum. He is currently in miss Brittney‘s class and every day he comes home telling me what he learned to new at school and it is so impressive!! My son is succeeding in every subject and the one on one attention they give each child has done him wonders! I have never had one complaint that I had to make In all of these years. I can’t only boast about the academics and curriculum. Every employee at Marina Montessori school truly cares about these children. I can go on and on all day about the confidence that my child has received through his years at Montessori. This school is always clean which is shocking to me considering the age range of the children. The playground is extremely safe and fully monitored at all times when the kids take recess. I have popped in at different times throughout the day and I could not feel more safe with my son anywhere else. I have seen the teachers putting sunblock on little faces on a hot day, making sure the children are fully hydrated at all times, and kids even crying that they did not want to go home at the end of the day. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Marina Montessori school. I will be forever grateful for everything you have all done for my son.

We have attended 3 very different area preschools over the last 3 years. Each had their advantages. Marina Montessori stands out as most parent friendly. They are by far the most flexible--schedules are easy here. The cost is low, and parents are treated much like "customers".

We left for a year and a half to attend the truly excellent and beautiful (but expensive) Little Owl School. Our particular circumstances lead us next to Kidworks, our nearest school. They provide a full, structured program at a moderate cost but are less flexible and our girl was not able to comply with their style and began to act out there.

So we wound up back at Marina. It felt like coming home! The little one likes it here, and their graciousness is a relief for me.

My daughter attended several years ago for 3 years. We loved our experience, everyone at Marina is so awesome, friendly, understanding and accommodating. The kids do work at their own pace. My daughter was given an opportunity to work at the pace best for her and learned so much. We have still kept in touch with quite a few and I would recommend this school to anyone looking!

My daughter loved this school, the teachers were sweet, and they did some extra activities with the kids that I thought were fun (they have chickens!). They were also very accommodating if I needed to switch my days last minute. Miss Candy is the director and was great to deal with. Great school!

My kid has been enrolled in this school for four months and I must say that I am so impressed with what they are learning. hTe curriculum is a great balance between work and play. My kid loves her teachers, who integrate a fantastic balance between learning and play. The director and staff are amazing. They are always available when I need to talk to someone and I would highly recommend this montessori school when looking for a preschool in the Long Beach area.
