As a parent I have to say that this is one of the worst schools. Not only are the children rude and disrespectful, the staff is not much better. They have so many assaults and or fights it takes campus police multiple weeks before they can address any police reports given. This school has so many altercation on and off campus that it impedes the children's education because they are in fear of returning. When staff is asked to watch or protect a student the response is that she is one of many.

i was a former student at that school. I personally never enjoyed going to that school. There are fights everyday, police are there everyday to. Not all the teachers are bad some are really amazing teachers. what bothered me the most about going to that school was how disrespectful the students are to the teachers. The staff dosent care either. The only thing thats enforced are the school uniforms other then that they dont care. The students bully and get in fight it was the worst school year i has i never got to learn the things i was suppose to learn. Some teachers dont teach, and have students sit through the whole class period without learning anything.

I say its amazing place their might be a lot of crazy kids but they are protecting the students and are helping them Lear for the future. They also have great teachers who try and try to make them better students the other reviews are bad but its not the teachers fault the students are bad it's there influences and parents.

Worst 2 and a half years of my life, I currently attend this school and going on to high school, I experienced a lot of discrimination for my race. Most Kids who attend this school are very ignorant and some girls are stuck up, and most kids here don't have any common sense. I highly recommend that all parents don't let their children go to this school, not even teachers let their kids go here.

I attended Sedway from 2005-2008 so I’m giving a review based on the years I spent there. The kids I went here with were by far the worst kids I’ve ever seen in my life and I grew up in N. Las Vegas. On numerous occasions I saw kids doing illegal drugs, engaging in PDA in the hallways, and straight up walking out of the school to ditch. It was so easy to do any or all of the three since most teachers turned a blind eye to it. Walking through the corridor in the am was like walking through a prison with no guards. Kids would gang up and have set areas where they gathered everyday and were willing to fight for their spot. That being said I really hope the administration has worked to improve the school because it was anything but a safe learning environment back then. Ms. Patterson was a diamond in the rough here, the only teacher I remember fondly because she was always on top of all her kids and had a passion for teaching that I’ll always remember.

I was a former student at this school it was the worst three years of my life and it wasn't mostly the students it was mostly the teachers. The teachers really don't care i was fail a lot of my classes and i didn't know it the teachers never said anything to me about my grades i asked for my parent link and i never got it and the dean doesn't care he is the worst dean ever. he doesn't solve any problems he just suspense people he doesn't even take the time out of his very un-busy day to find out the real problem all the teachers Favorites people so you really won't be about to get anywhere with them. i wouldn't recommend a monkey, bird , dog , cat , lion , shrimp , or a monster to go to this school if they are zoned of this school be prepared to get bullied not by the students but by the staff.

When I first entered Sedway I thought everything would be alright. I'd get good grades, have nice relationships with teachers, not be bullied, and have some friends. However, it was the opposite. Countless bullying each corner I see, violent bullies and even more. The staff don't care about anything. I honestly want to confidently say they only care about money and their paychecks. After I finished 6th grade, I begged my parents not to come back. I told them on why the school sucks and they agreed to me. (Thankfully!) We moved to Kenny Guinn Middle School and I highly recommend it. There is barely no bullying and it is a great STEM program. The dean is very strong on bullying and will have orientations every now and then. The teachers are mostly amazing and they understand you. The rules are ridiculous though. But, thank god it's only one rule. Separating the girls and boys during lunch. With this conclusion, I highly recommend switching to another middle school (Like Kenny Guinn or some other fabulous schools) or homeschooling your child. 🙂

I am also shocked at how rude the staff is and the kids are horrible. My daughter is in 6th grade and I am thinking of pulling her out and home schooling her.

She has Mr Stevenson for 1st period and was given deans detention for the entire week as he stated she was seen at breakfast and ditched his class, this was aparently told to him by another student. Not the case at all I drove my daughter to school that day from a dentist apt. and we arrived at the school at 9:45am which is well after his class and far from the time they serve breakfast. So he either took another childs word that she ditched or he is a straight up lier in which case he gave her deans detention for something she had no control of. I am straightening it out with the school and will not allow her to stay after for the detention and the school can take that up with me. the teacher also called my child low skilled and insecure (which she was terrified to go to 6th grade in the first place) and the experience has only made things worse. this school sucks and confirms why las vegas has the lowest ratings on education. I am pist and think home schooling might be a better option. If you can help it DO NOT enroll your child in this school figure something else out get a zone variance do something but this isn't the school for uplifting confidence.
