been to probably 10 different gyms in my life and this has to be one the lower end for sure. The plate machines can't fit the plates properly when you rack them, the adjustment sucks for most of them, the choice of machines for leg workouts are crappy, and is incredibly crowded during WTI with almost 0 adjustments made for the influx of people. The actual equipment they have is relatively new and well taken care of which is good as well as the bathrooms are genuinely pretty clean compared to other gyms ive been in. They have a lot of dumbbells for sure with a great selection for different attachments on cables and different bars for squatting, deadlifting, or benching. The outdoor section is nice, but the plates are humongous so its hard to go heavy on anything outside. Overall not great, not bad, but definitely worth it for permanent personnel to pay for an off base gym over going here.

This review is for the Cannon Air Defense Gym; the smaller gym is a free weight haven! With an outside HITT area it feels bare bones and motivated at the same time, it's worth the visit.

Nice facility. I am using it as a USMC retiree. The machines are a lot nicer since I was stationed here in 1985.

Alright, listen up! Let me tell you about this gym I recently hit up. Now, I’m all about speed and competition, but I gotta admit, this place ain’t as bad as I thought it’d be.

First off, when I walked in, it smelled like hard work and sweat—just the way it should. It had that energy, like the feeling you get before a big race. The equipment? Top-notch! They’ve got everything you need to get your body in tip-top shape. I mean, if it’s not fast, it’s last, right? So, I hit the treadmill and cranked up the speed. It felt like I was racing to the finish line at Talladega!

The staff was friendly too, which surprised me. They didn’t just stand around like a bunch of pit crew guys without a car to fix. They actually knew what they were doing and offered tips that didn’t make me feel like a complete rookie.

And the atmosphere? Let me tell you, it’s like being in a race with all kinds of folks trying to get better. You got your bodybuilders, your cardio fanatics, and even a few people just trying to survive a yoga class. Everyone’s there pushing themselves, and that kind of drive? It’s contagious.

Sure, I’d rather be on the racetrack than lifting weights, but if you’re looking to get in shape and feel like a champion, this gym’s a solid choice. It might not be a NASCAR race, but it’s definitely got that competitive spirit. So, if you’re not first, you might just find yourself feeling pretty good about second place.

In conclusion, while I’d still prefer to be zooming around in a car, hitting the gym ain’t so bad. Just remember: “If you ain't first, you're last,” but hey, getting fit is still a win in my book!

I actually really like the gym itself. It gets rather busy during WTI but it was never unusable due to that. Plenty of good equipment. So why give 2 stars? It's not open 24 hours like every other base gym I've ever been to, as such Night Crew Marines typically get screwed over. Please adjust to have a 24hr access like other bases.

Great fitness facility. Military ID is required for access. HIIT, cardio, weightlifting, they have it all.

I enjoy the gym and classes. The staff are nice and friendly. However, it's very dirty. And rusty. There isn't any cleaning service so it's up to the staff and plenty is working.
