We did not expect to see a submarine sail on our drive from Blackfoot to Boise so stopped by.

Only the open-air exhibits were open (mid-Sep) but we enjoyed reading the submarine info.

Fascinating history lesson on electric nuclear power used in submarines. The site consists of (3) separate places, (1) Mega-Peace Museum building, (2) Idaho Science Center (outdoor kiosk), & (3) The Devil Boat submarine sail (tower). If you're lucky, a local docent will be present to give a tour of the museum, if not the other places have self-guided signage. A quirky, educational and fun visit!

We were fortunate enough to schedule a museum tour with Harvey. His knowledge and stories about the HSS Hawksbill as well as his personal experience on submarines in the Navy were outstanding. We really enjoyed our time with him and would highly recommend visiting this museum.
