I was visiting my son and his family in Pasadena when I paid Midfield a visit. The location is great and very easy to fly in and out of. They were very friendly and helpful. Flew a couple of different airplanes to include a Piper Arrow and Warrior. The airplanes are well kept and reliable. Had some dual instruction to Catalina Island which was the highlight of my trip to Apple Valley. Thanks for a great visit and will be coming by again in April for some more flying.

Staff are very friendly. Instructor Shawn is very great. Works with your strengths and reinforces any weakness with positivity by remaining relaxed and chill. Would recommend if you have considered flying. Customer service far exceeded some of the previous places that I've checked out in person.

Friendly staff and awesome flight instructors. Patrick, FBO owner, operator and A & P mechanic is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful when its time to perform your aircraft annual inspection. Ans, the manager, is a sharp and sweet person and ( was ) an expert in many PP ratings.
I learned how to fly at Midfield Aviation and received my private pilot license in 2009. I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to become a private pilot or (if you're already a PP), perform your biannual review with any of their fine flight instructors.

Midfield Aviation is one of the last of it's kind. It is a true pilots FBO. I have been flying since i was underage, 40 years and counting, East and West coast, and this is what it is all about. Midfield Aviation is a tight knit family of incredibly knowledgeable and passionate people who know and love flying. Most schools these days are made up of sterile characterless LOW HOURS instructors who couldn't teach their way out of wet paper bag. Fly with Midfield and you learn how to REALLY fly. Patrick, the owner, is one of the most knowledgeable instructors and A&P's I have ever met. Ans is an ace pilot and instructor herself but alas they are both retired. Maybe a good begging on bended knee would get you keys to the kingdom with them, it's worth a try.

I fly my J3 4 hours from Tahoe just to have Patrick and Don work on it, and they are open to a pilot assisted annual. Once I had to rebuild my canvas wing and he let me help in the rebuild. What a learning experience that was. I will cherish it.

Sure the place is dusty, smokey and filled with parts from who knows when. Who cares, that is a patina that comes from years of work and won't rub off easily, it's called character. I may seem to be overly gushing about this place but i really feel strongly about the value it adds to the entire aviation experience. I hope they stay in business for a very long time. By the way, the prices can not be beat. Give 'em a shot, if you don't like how they do it there are a thousand other cookie cutter FBO's out there willing to push you through the presto facto pilot machine. Enjoy the ride.

Used this company 5 years back and contacted them for another flight over Victorville. Initial replies were received, but after I emailed to book a time and date slot, there was no replies forthcoming. Extremely poor.

I originally chose Midfield Aviation because it was the only FBO offering taildragger training within 100 miles. After solo, I continued at Midfield because rates are affordable & the instructors are capable pilots. The desert winds blow, so you'll get plenty of crosswind practice!
Midfield personnel don't wear uniforms, don't spout the textbook, don't try to sell a canned pro-pilot program. If these are faults, I'm glad they have them.
Anyhow, I received training for most of my ratings at Midfield. I'm at 4,500 hours now & I teach ground school at Midfield Aviation. Come out & visit Midfield & let's get you started!
