Great place to go with the family. There is something to do for all ages. Very clean facility! They have a basketball court , pickle ball, outdoor swiming pool, lots of free weights and cardio equipment.

Great facility. Clean, well maintained with plenty of classes and etc. Staff is always helpful and cheerful.
I've been using this facility over 8 years...No Mas.
It has been overrun by OPOE (Only Person On Earth). What should take 10 minutes to hit a circuit of machines can take...as long as OPOE wants to twiddle their phone, or look off into space. OPOE will sit on a machine, adjust it, get their accessories just right, do five or ten reps then....check up on weather, keyboard cats, the periodic table...dunno. Five or ten reps, then...back to the phone. Sometimes OPOE is with OOPOE (Only Other Person On Earth). If this duo is together just forget about whatever station they are on- it's occupied for at least a half hour...
I have no idea how to teach OPOE about the rest of humanity, so I give up. I cleared out a basement room and installed a bunch of Craigslist equipment for less than a year of Y membership for my wife and I.
I'm pretty sure OPOE and OOPOE spend their weekends at Lake Martin, 'surfing' behind a boat making a giant wake that ruins water for anyone else in sight...if they could see.

I have been traveling the country. Been showering at YMCA in whatever city and state I happen to be in at the time. NOT HERE. No christian faith, love, or beliefs here. Pay for a full membership or get NOTHING!!!!

Very friendly and helpful staff and also very clean and well-kept. Large well lit and secure parking area.

Updated 08/16/2022 Great staff and management. This still continues to be an outstanding facility with a very welcoming attitude.
Easy access with large will let secured parking area.

I have been working out for many years in many gyms. This has been my favorite of all of them. Nice equipment and plenty of it. It's rare that I have to wait to use something. The staff and management go above and beyond to assure the environment is pleasan yand clean.

I love the YGT classes they offer. Especially since they've added a Sunday afternoon class. It's a great way to start off my week and the instuctor, Brenda , is awesome, knowledgeable and supportive. Barre with Katie and ygt with Sarah are also excellent classes and wonderful instructors. A combination of all three keeps my workouts fun and interesting. Highly recommend!

This is the best YMCA in the Birmingham area. The staff are friendly and nice. You will always get a nice smile and greeting when entering the building. They have the latest equipment . They have the cleanest facility. The things they have for there members the best ice machine. Compliment coffee and tea. They have everything you need blow dryer, lotion, Kleenex, swim caps, fresh white towels to use on a daily basis. A variety of classes and staff to fit your need.
