Unprofessional staff that had no communication in place for the student dorm leaders nor the RA’s. They would only give enough food to survive. Ms. Lexi is unprofessional once she told a student she was being messy because the students brought something to her attention. The campus dose not care about the students it’s all about numbers. But there were a few staff that made it easier for students. For instance the carpentry instructor mr.Tomas, ms.AJ, and mama J. They encouraged me and help me get the education was there for. Unfortunately I didn’t stay long. Someone started harassing me and wouldn’t leave me alone my last straw was when said girl followed me got in my face and saying mean things and she would leave me alone. I told staff about her coming to my class, coming into my room when I was naked, threatened me, and wouldn’t stop texting my phone number. They did nothing and when I defended myself they kick me out. I was there for my education but to them I was just a number. I do want to give props to my instructor Mr. Madera, he pushed us to do better for our selves. He cares for his students and it shows in how comfortable the students were to express what they needed. He is kind and giving, he pushes us in the right direction. He even goes out of his way to help the campus. Not for the number but for the students. I’m glade I went and got the knowledge I learned because of him. If you can go, go but don’t put yourself through torcher when the staff stop caring.

If you can avoid it please do. For your own sanity and personal wellbeing. If it’s your only option, I understand, but man I’ve been there (2023) and it was soul degrading.

Pros:
1. Sometimes you could find golf balls if you walked around the perimeter.
2. If you were lucky you could signed for a bus trip and go for a fun trip.
3. Basketball Court was good and also the pool tables.
4. Moma J is a sweetheart really nice person.

Cons: (A lot but I will give you only 4)
1. Heater and the air conditioning are half of the time working properly.
2. Food is basically prison food.
3. 70% percent of the staff is unprofessional and don’t know what they are doing. Plus absolutely no communication from staff to staff or staff to “students”.
4. No game consoles allow, but you can smoke up to 2 packs of cigarettes if you want.

ALL of Wellness staff are unprofessional, Lazy, and give an attitude when they give BELOW the bare minimum. When covid effected the students they did absolutely nothing. Students were constantly throwing up and covid was spreading. They even put the SAME COVID STUDENTS IN THE SAME DORM WITH THE REGULAR POPULATION MAKING MORE AND MORE STUDENTS SICK! They didn't mandate masks or enforce social distancing. The Wellness staff could care less about the students here. They all should be fired. If you don't like helping people or DOING YOUR JOB you should quit or pick a different profession.

Today was my first day & the dorms has bedbugs and rats! The bathrooms stank and today the cafeteria served hard hot pockets with chips. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had today ! I left job corps because it was terrible! Don’t go here it ain’t worth it.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE!!!! I attended job corps for 3 months at this place and it’s a lot of things yall should know before even considering going to job corps, this location specifically. THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE TRADES BEING SELF PACED IS A BIG FAT LIE! It is not self paced at all. You move as a group because instructors are lazy and do not want to do their jobs how they are supposed to. ADMINISTRATION IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! It is all a money scheme. They get rid of staff in the middle of important assignments and hold the kids back and do not provide further help. Some trades go 6months to 1 year without an instructor and they will have the kids just sitting there not learning nothing and in pointless reading and math classes for money! If you get sick or badly injured on campus and they do not see it as important they will not help you at all and you’ll have to figure out something on your own. You can not order medicine if you are sick or anything, THEY WILL TAKE IT! That’s not even mentioning the dorms. The living conditions here are not healthy at all. People getting sick left and right. They don’t supply mask majority of the time even if covid is spreading around the campus. Moms have a talk with your daughters before they attend job corps because they’ll need a strong head on their shoulders while entering this center. Unwanted drama will find them over nothing but boys and other women as well. Also have a hygiene talk with them because that was also a big problem that i witnessed while living amongst a lot of other young women. Majority of the RA’s that watch over girls act just as young and reckless as some of the young women in the dorm so things are not organized or professional at anytime in the dorms. There is mold in the showers, showers plumbing is horrible also the toilets, 60 girls sharing one bathroom because the other is COMPLETELY out of order!!! THATS NOT INCLUDING THE CAFETERIA SAFETY HAZARDS!!!! There are rats in the food and they still serve it. Some things are undercooked and gives a lot of the students unexplainable stomach pains!! The food itself that they serve is not appetizing either!! They get a lot of money from bringing kids in but not spending it on us! They give us $40 or $41 every two weeks and it does not last at all. THEY ARE VERY RACIST AS WELL!! I’ve witnessed countless racist situations on center and its MOSTLY STAFF, not even students(there’s a few)! Also they bring new people in EVERY TUESDAY when there’s barely any space for the people that they already have there and that creates more problems as well when it comes to the health of others! It’s a lot more wrong with this place that i don’t even feel like talking about but if you ever considered going here before reading this review, CHANGE YOUR MIND WHILE YOU STILL CAN BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU THE TRUTH JUST TO GET YOU THERE!!!!!!

Sent my children there thinking it was a place that would have a positive impact. Instead she was treated like a prisoner. They promised to let her stay until she found employment, that didn't happen. Promised to help her get a place to live, that didn't happen. Promised to give her money w hen she completed, that didn't happen. She complained about the heat not working in the winter. Rats and mold in the dorm. Staff is rude and aggressive with students. She's from out of state, and they terminated her a day before she was scheduled to leave. They put her on a greyhound, with none of her possessions and Promised to ship her belongings when she wanted to take what she could with her, they wouldn't allow her. She's so depressed about all this and I hate I ever convinced her to go here. Might as well be a prison.
