The coaches / tutors that our son worked with were extremely supportive and he developed close relationships with them all. The rest of the team is excellent as well and I cannot recommend NWES in strongly enough!

NWES is hands down the best tutoring available in Seattle. Our family has utilized their services for 2 kids over the past 10 years and it has been nothing but a great experience.

My children both have learning disabilities and ADHD, diagnosed early in elementary school. From the time of diagnosis (and seeing how she struggled with certain subjects), we enlisted Greg Smith and NWES to support my daughter's learning style, especially in math, but in other subjects as needed. Greg has always been patient and thorough, working with her learning style, understanding how to "teach" to her dyslexia, and breaking ideas and concepts down to a digestible format for her. She has always looked forward to her tutoring session as it gives her confidence when she has someone sitting down at her side, working concepts through until she understands the material. It reduces her stress and has greatly added to her success in school.

When we started addressing college applications, we expanded our time with NWES. As a parent I attended a NWES workshop for college prep and this was very beneficial. As a family we had a session with her tutor to work through college selections and plan the whole application process. And finally, we had NWES help with SAT/ACT prep and college essays. I cannot speak more highly about any of these support offerings.

Transitioning to remote learning posed new challenges with learning but once again NWES stepped up and created a seamless solution to online tutoring. This was incredibly beneficial last spring as schools and teachers struggled to adjust to this new learning style and left to our family (both kids) leaning on NWES to support the learning and content delivery of core curriculum.

Now my daughter is in college and while we assumed we'd be transitioning away from NWES for her after high school, she has been a huge self-advocate for maintaining her tutoring sessions with Greg and NWES in the classes she needs additional support in. We will also continue to use NWES as my son finishes high school.

I am so thankful our family found NWES and have had the support of Greg and his team to help our children thrive educationally and find joy and passion in their learning experience.

Our family has worked with NWES for the last 4+ years. We started when our son needed a proctored exam for the online ed advanced Algebra class he took over the summer before starting high school and he continued to work regularly/weekly with NWES tutor Jason on various things for which he needed guidance over the 4 years in high school. Their sessions were centered on strategy and learning how to organize and develop good study habits and while content teaching was a part of it, our son's growth into a confident student was the most important benefit.

The last session with Jason is next week. Our son will be graduating from Ballard High School next Wednesday (with straight As) and in fall he is starting at UW Engineering - majoring in MechEng and Industrial Design.

My husband and I are very grateful to Greg and Jason for all the support in last 4+ years. It was really great to know that even though our son would not really listen to us, Jason will likely get through him and point him in the right direction. It was wonderful to work with NWES. finding them was one of the luckiest accidents!

My daughter is graduating high school and heading to George Washington University next year. There are numerous intrinsic drivers that have led to her success, while one of the biggest extrinsic factors was Northwest Educational Service. The tutors taught her how to approach learning in a way that best suited her natural inclinations while building strengths in areas where she lacked confidence. She has been attending for the entirety of high school (started in middle school) and we are so grateful to NWES for the role they played in her intellectual development. In addition, NWES has worked with every one of my four children, meeting each where they were and given them unique attention and guidance. NWES is more than a great place for kids to get homework done; they teach kids how to learn and the value of the process, rather than merely focusing on the outcome (getting it done, getting good grades) as the only measure of success. I have really enjoyed their presence in my children’s’ lives and highly recommend their services, which they have continued online during the last few months without a glitch. This support is likely even more important now that kids are learning from home!

I never expected my daughter to ask to see her tutors but she does. She loves how they have shown her not only to overcome the challenge of the moment, but how to tackle anything that comes her way. She is building a solid toolkit set on a foundation of confidence that will serve her throughout her life. They tune in to what she wants and needs and work with her where she is most interested, which leads to overall success and thoroughly engages her. And, they are all exceptionally nice people.

Paul and I wanted to take a moment and let you all know how much you helped our daughter reach her potential. We began working with NWES the spring of Megan's sophmore year. She was experiencing alot of stress trying to get homework done and keep up in all of her classes. After meeting with Greg, we were sold on having her at NWES. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming and she always felt comfortable there. Being able to stay and work on her homework after her sessions was one key to her success. She knew there was no time limit and we feel that allowed her to relax and focus on the tasks at hand. She acquired the study skills and the confidence to achieve great things, in high school and beyond. In addition to her regular class assistance, NWES was helpful with her studies for college entrance exams. She got over her test anxiety and shined with her test scores. As she enters college this fall, she has great confidence in her ablilty to be successful in whatever she studies and we know that NWES was instrumental in establishing this self confidence. I met with Chris Loper in Middle School until I graduated High School, and he helped me enormously in many different ways. Chris helped me work through specific assignments and master certain units, but also taught me great and broadly applicable studying and time management skills. I owe a lot of my success as a student to him, and couldn't recommend working with him enough to any other student.

Chris is just one of the tutors at NWES, however. While I never worked with another tutor at the business, every interaction I had with the other employees and with Greg Smith was extremely impressive and helpful. Every time I saw another tutor at NWES, I got the impression that my relationship with Chris, while personal and unique, was also simply the norm. I really don't think you can go wrong here, and that's extremely impressive at a business that's dependent on consistent personal excellence.

I highly recommend NWES. My daughter was struggling with completing tasks as an early-entrance college student due to ADHD. We discovered NWES during her final year, and Molly's coaching made a world of difference. With her help, her final year of college was the most rewarding and least frustrating!
