Great place to see a play, or concert! The PCPA is located in Solvang, basically within walking distance of the public parking lots. **Word of advice, if you haven't been before, bring a jacket, a warm blanket, and wear warm clothes. It may be warm in the day, but as soon as the sun goes down, believe me, you'll freeze! They do allow you to rent a blanket ($3), but it wasn't very warm.
You may order food while you wait to go in. They have a wonderful "picnic" area while you wait before the show. The tickets are pretty reasonable. I was blessed, my friend gave me two tickets, still, definitely worth the price. We saw the musical, In To The Woods. It was EXCELLENT!! It's a musical. The actors were so good, and we were riveted. All in all a stellar experience!
We had a wonderful dinner at Whiskey & Rye, and we went wine tasting at Dana V. Awesome night!!

went to the kit kat klub the other night (cabaret) and it was so amazing! cabaret is my number one show so I was pretty hyped to see it and it absolutely lived up to my expectations, couldn't ask for anything better. the choreo was so compelling, the directing was great and they casted perfectly. I'm going to see it again too on sunday! it's really cool they have an outdoor theatre, as well as an indoor one! (in different places) the actors in the shows I've seen are amazing, a really professional theatre company. the actors really put all their time and hard work into the shows. if you're thinking about going to a show, go to pcpa, but be respectful of the people around you and the performers. πŸ™‚ also the food was fire

All seats are good. Nice setting, not too big. Actors were superb, story and the performance was entertaining and well done. Probably best for adults with some knowledge of social history and understanding.

Loved this theater. It was our 6th Anniversary and my husband decided to take me out to Solvang. We went to see "The Play That Goes Wrong" I guess aka "Murder at the Haversham Manor"
We bought beers and cookies at the concession stand. I wore a sweater. It started at 8pm. By the time it was halfway and break time I was cold. they rented blankets for $3. I rented one and it helped. The actors were great and funny...even kept acting during the intermission off set near the concession stand. We had a great time

I've seen number of different plays and musicals here over the years and I invariably have a good time. It's a great place to see local theater. It is not Broadway, and doesn't try to be. The actors are enjoyable and endearing and the sets are typically inventive and interesting. Both the Santa Maria and Solvang theater settings are in the half round so there are very few poor seats. If you end up at the outdoor Solvang theater, I would highly recommend you bring a jacket, sweater, or blanket to keep you warm--even on warm summer days it can cool off quickly.
