I was struggling with depression when I first went to the Sanderson center. I am a Deaf person and felt like an uninvited guest there, like what do you want from us type of thing. I even volunteered there. Left a one star review in the past. After they read my review, they became very friendly so I changed the review to 5 stars. After they got that 5 star review, I became that uninvited guest again. So I’ll just change the review back.

Great place to have events and meet people! Definitely a place to visit for tourists and for those interested in learning more about deaf culture and American Sign Language. Tons of resources for deaf people and their family members. The receptionist is always a delight and super helpful every time I go in. There's a couple of them but they always know where to direct me and how to help me! They also have lots of opportunities to volunteer. Oh! They also do newsletters and email blasts.

Always warmly greeted by staff every time I visit. I've visited many times for various functions and have never once had a bad experience. Great place to be with other members of the Deaf and ASL community. Sometimes hard to find parking for larger functions.

Well rounded community center. They have activities open to the public for both the hard of hearing who want to socialize and for the hearing who want to practice their ASL. They also offer many educational resources for those seeking to improve their signing abilities and/or become interpreters.

I didn't know this before I visited but they also have community services helping hard of hearing find help for legal documents or get medical help.

As a person with hearing loss, I have learned so much at the Sanderson Center about ways to handle difficult situations with hearing family and friends. They have a demo room where I could try out different assistive technologies (door bell alerts, personal listening devices that extend the usefulness of my hearing aids, etc.). They also offer classes specifically for people who are losing their hearing. Staff is friendly, and my inability to sign does not keep them from reaching out to me.

I love this place because it helps me understand more about hearing loss, communities and anything else I would want to know. Wish more funding would be given to them for all they do but aside from that, I have meet many wonderful, kind and sweet people along with that I have attended some insightful classes.
