Fantastic late afternoon/evening sail aboard Taihoa! Captain Doug is a great storyteller, and we learned cool facts about Bay Area history, nature, wind and weather phenomena, and of course, the history of the boat herself. Best Charter Sailboat experience! Captain Doug answered all my questions on the phone the day before our sailing adventure, we were a flight crew of 4 and wanted to see the Bay Area sights on the boat. Captain Doug gave us step-by-step directions on how to meet him in Sausalito and gave us a warm welcome and introduced us to his beautiful boat Taihoa! I love learning the history of the classic wooden boat from New Zealand. You could feel the pride he had owning it well as knowing a lot of history with the Bay Area sights. I loved how we bring our own snacks and drinks they are coolers on aboard and we ended up adding another hour.
I highly recommend this experience!

We had an amazing experience out on San Francisco Bay with Captain Doug on Taihoa.

Captain Doug was extremely professional and knowledgeable about his craft. He couldn’t have been a nicer guy.

The boat has a long history that Captain Doug knows quite well, he shared some cool old pictures and stories about the life of the boat.

He shared so many cool/fun facts about sailing, it’s history and pointed out a ton of local landmarks. We even got to partake in some of the sailing as well, tying off a few ropes and steering the boat a bit.

We saw some wildlife (Porpoise and Harbor Seals) and just had the best day out there.

I hope to use Sail Taihoa again!

My family of 6 went out with Captain Doug on Taihoa and had the most spectacular time in Sausalito Bay! Capt Doug took his time to explain safety measures and made everyone feel as safe as possible. We even got to hoist the sails and steer the boat! Highly recommend booking this for beautiful views and an unforgettable experience.

We had a phenomenal time sailing the bay! We loved learning about San Francisco, the boat, and sailing in general! We got incredible sunset shots under the Golden Gate Bridge and was the highlight from our anniversary trip! Highly recommend for anyone visiting the bay or even anyone that live in the Bay Area but hasn’t been out via book! Such a great price so go for a romantic afternoon sail or go with up to six friends/family for a extremely memorable event! Thanks captain Doug!!!
