The group offers a great variety of library related trainings that can be used throughout Florida. However, their leadership though is horrible. The group is led by a lady with zero customer service skills. She would went out of her way to embarress me when I reached out with a question. She did this twice over the years. What does it say about an organization that is designed to support a career in customer service when the leadership doesn’t have those skills herself? I asked another librarian and she told me this woman was known for her bad temper. Well, in this industry when you’ve lost your ability to be patient and respectful with your customers, both internal and external, it may be time to move on to other options. You don’t belittle them. I gave SWFLN a one star rating because, though the trainings were helpful, you can experience the same support through various webinars and support systems but not leave feeling two inches small. No one wants a training experience that leaves you not wanting to do any trainings again.
