Not sure why there are these 1 star reviews. I was in Reno last week and wanted to fly a Sling. I brought my flight bag and all my gear for this trip. Paul got me in with last minute notice and I got to fly his Sling LSA. Granted, he didn't let me do any landings, that's understandable. He had my log book and saw I had low hours. Not to mention the low wing Sling handles different from a high wing Cessna. All in all, I was totally happy. I will be back in a couple weeks and can't wait to go back into that beautiful aircraft and add more time to my log book. Thanks again Paul

I can’t thank Paul & Michaela enough for their help & support in my flight training. ✈️ I’m finally a licensed pilot! 🏁 I worked with many CFI’s and flight schools and 150 hours later I called Paul to see how they could help. I flew my own airplane with another CFI to Carson City from Las Vegas. They both helped me to understand precision in flight maneuvers and many parts of flying and aeronautical knowledge that I had never learned along the way. I was stubborn, and wanted to give up, and couldn’t imagine coming home and telling my kiddos that I still won’t be able to fly with them. 😔 Paul & Michaela helped me to persevere through the challenges, and believed in me when I had a hard time continuing to believe in myself! Thank you both for your patience, hard work, and encouragement. I thought flying solo was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, but actually flying with my kids was one of the most incredible experiences of my life thus far. When I had my little girl in my airplane holding short of the runway for takeoff, the tower responded “23 Papa, cleared for takeoff”. She said “mama, 23 Papa cleared for takeoff”… and my whole heart melted in that moment. I wouldn’t have had this life experience and shared privilege if not for Paul & Michaela. What an incredible team they are. Thank you for positively impacting my life and helping me continue through the finish line 🏁 I am forever grateful. 🙏❤️ I now have an 8-year old co-pilot most captains only dream of! 💫🙌✈️

I came to Paul as a private pilot, recently instrument rated, after owning a trike for two years and not getting much training time in it. Paul answered my calls and made scheduling simple. I accidentally showed up a week ahead of our arranged time to drop off my trike at his hanger and Paul kindly took time away from what he was doing to let me in the hanger so as to not waste my trip for me. Training was clear and comfortable. Paul knows both the regulations and the techniques. I had him complete the annual inspection as it was past due and I was inspired by his thoroughness and genuine concern for my safety. Paul takes cash or card which made transactions easy, and I never had any confusion about what I was paying for. I passed my proficiency check today and I felt well prepared as I departed in my trike for my home airport. Thank you, Paul.

I have always dreamed of becoming a pilot, so I contacted Paul and after several emails decided to go to Carson City to get my license. Paul is an incredible instructor, very patient and explains things very well. His equipment is high quality and well maintained. His online courses are top shelf all the way and well worth the investment.

Stay away from this place! This guy charges the Most I've seen. For not a lot of instruction. The clock starts running as soon as you talk to him. Asking questions about the program; that's "ground school" time. Singing papers, that's ground school time. You're Always on the clock with this guy. He charges as much as he possibly can. His prices for learning in his little sport plane are considerably higher than a standard Cessna 172, despite the fact that it uses cheap pump gas (not av), and far less of it.
When all was said and done, after the books he said I 'absolutely needed', signing papers and talking about his 'program'; I paid close to $350 for an hour of flight, during which I barely flew at all. He was more interested in demonstrating his airplane, than providing any sort of instruction.
Despite having over 60 logged hours in other craft, I wasn't allowed to takeoff, or land, or do really much of anything beside basic maneuvers. I was allowed to do "turns around a point". Then he wanted to demonstrate how good his plane was at steep turns. Which he did over and over, quite aggressively until I felt a little woozy. He seemed pleased about that, and we landed at another airport because he had to pee, and to 'give me some air'; which I insisted I didn't need. Of course the clock was running while he went to the bathroom, then talked to some other pilots about his little plane. Finally, we left again, him taking off again, heading back to the original airport, where he landed of course. (He let me fly the straight line back to the airport and the downwind to base).
This was the Most Expensive flight lesson I've Ever paid for. And there wasn't much of a lesson to speak of. He was far more interested in showing off his airplane than anything else. And then his pictures and everything in his office, which I didn't know I was being charged "ground school" time for until I was presented with the bill.
Do yourself a favour. Stay Far Away from this place. Learn to fly just about Anywhere else and you'll have better instruction, and more money stay in your pocket.

Ps: we had a dispute about payment, and he charged my card Again, 2 months later, without my approval. Oh,, and he never signed my logbook).

I read some other post on here and I think the guy before was too sensitive and couldn't handle constructive-criticism. You're flying a plane and you need a honest review of what you're doing wrong, so you can be more safe of a pilot...

I finished my PPL in about 90 days, taking my time. The planes nice, new and performs well for a LSA. I did a lot of extra training because this area has very mountainous terrain, so mountain flying and IMC training, etc.

Price is pretty much same around.
