They offer homeless placement and advocacy and assessment. Haven't been there yet but I was referred to them by Brilliant Corners the disabled persons version of subsedized housing similar to Section 8.

I deal with chronic medical disablities. They are rac1st to native Americans, play favorites, and constantly ignore their own policy. If they don't like you, they make sure they don't get you things you need. They neglect your case. They honestly have contributed to ruining my life. I'm in constant pain. They constantly tried to get me to work when I couldn't anymore, then never set me up with assistance to get disability. I had to beg for anything. Aretha would just ignore me. She'd always have an attitude and acted like doing anything for me, like having the "liberty " to give me a list of numbers for apartments she was supposed to help me find. Those numbers didn't work or were beyond my budget which she had access to know. I had problems with my employment worker at SPY whom is related, over my disability and the abuse I endured by the company. I had to quit with a flare for my form to section 8 finally to be presented to me by Aretha instead of hung over my head by Antoinette. Again, they are related. I've been threatened multiple times if I speak out, I'd lose all my support yet where was the support to begin with? There was always an obstacle,with folk waiting for me to fail. I limp around now. I have to use mobility aids.
I asked over and over for assistance with getting an attorney as the place they had me in was infested with black mold. My health ended up spiraling because of it, putting me out of work. I'm a single mom with chronic conditions.. I escaped human trafficking. I'm now stuck in a dangerous new complex under section 8, with again, more issues with anyone close to these people. My daughter has been targeted and hurt. Money is involved. You can be sure of it, this is why we need government support outside of companies like this that abuse their power.
They also refuse to show me how they paid my portion of rent so I can't sue the last people who destroyed my health while I'm a aparent.

I was 18-19 when first 5 La first started maya eagin was supposedly helping me I was former foster youth .ended up getting an eviction on my credit even though I paid all my rent she said she would send proof of emails of the landlord saying there was no eviction on my name instead she just ignored me countless times when I reached out to her for any kind of proof. Now they just ignore your calls and applications for assistance. I just needed help finding an apartment that excepted my voucher. These people have no problem asking for donations or pretending to be saviors while ignoring people like me .

DO NOT DONATE ANYTHING to the Saint Joseph's Center; THIS IS DIRTIEST AND THE BIGGEST FAKE AGENCY STEALING THE MOST FROM THE UNDERSERVED. The St.Joseph's Center is the biggest scam being perpetrated against homeless and low income people. This agency is full of liars, manipulators and thieves. They are very dark hearted and misleading. They are involved in a major identity theft ring of unhoused & marginalized persons. The agency requests documents and indentification but always fails to provide services after receiving the endless requests for personal documents and personal information. EBT and theft is huge; as well as placing their own friends, family and drug connections into units using other people's identity and financial information. One man wearing a St. Joseph's uniform and work ID Badge brokers stolen EBT cards and offers 2 for 1 on the money. He goes to CVS and even offers the mgmt on staff a deal on the stolen cards. They lie and focus on fundraising only to buy themselves new luxury cars and motorcycles. They refuse to utilize the HUD government funding given to them & actually help the low income get rehoused. They are a crew of liars and thieves that cover up for each other. EXTREMELY high caseworker turnover. Staff has no business cards and during any application process you will meet workers outside anywhere but inside a St.Joseph's Center office and be treated with respect & dignity. They have no hierarchal accountibilty and St.Joseph's Center Board Members continue to ignore the obvious corruption and keep sucking cash off the Federal, State and County Monies. They are not to be trusted with any of your personal information and if you are asked to meet them you will not get anything in return ( housing, interim housing or Section 8 vouchers once your Data and Indentity have been given to the St.Joseph's Center. Phone calls and emails are always ignored and they have a very toxic habit of pretending they did not make offers of permanent housing. This agency is a group of very dishonest people; lying and covering up for one another. They are harmful for Los Angeles as it is misleading donors as to what they are doing with fidicuary monies. They are STEALING FROM THE UNDERSERVED & HOMELESS. They shuffle people through the fakest re housing programs orientations and NEVER EVER

Everyone, from upper administrators to staff to part-time volunteers, are so caring and passionate about what they do. Their Codetalk program is absolutely amazing. They have a very well organized and generous food bank that honors vegan requests. They even have food for cats! They are definitely making a positive impact on the community.

This was the 2nd time I had applied for help the first time they were fast and wonderful since then I had a major set back I can't see out of my left eye so driving for door dash stopped and I have matastactic brest cancer stage 4 I went to them for help again my worker was very disrespectful and rude it has been 2 months and today they closed my case because I refused for them to inspect my apartment I went to them on 4 different occasions with items I knew they would need and the worker wanted me to email them I told him I couldn't do that so I toke it upon myself to take them to the office and then I was told thats all they need then before he went on vacation I was told I had to bring my social security card to him at 7:30 in the morning which I found transportation and did he at that point 4 trips later said everything was good to go and so I relaxed but after he returned I finally got ahold of him and he said it still hadn't been inputed but it would be done this week then I get a call saying I need a vidio of my apartment I told him I can't do that so he said someone needed to inspect my home I said no this was not an issue before and I am not comfortable to have someone I don't know in my home so today I am told he is going to contact my realestate and have them do it I said no there is no need for anyone to come to inspect my home I have been here for over 45 years and I am 75 years old I like my privacy and so I get a call from him again and he has his manager on the phone with him now this is the same manager I have left atleast 8 voicemails to contact me as well as telling him I wanted to talk to him to no avail but today because I was refusing to allow someone to vidio my home I would get nothing and my case was being closed I asked about my utilities and phone she said no I would get nothing so after all this stress trips etc and 2 months I get zero I understand that they have the right to approve or not approve but to drag this on for so long and adding new requirements as you are told your good to go isn't right or fair but I guess wasting all this time its being blamed on me for not wanting a vidio of my home sad
