It was 2022-23 when I was a patient at summit view.
The staff never really took action in any of the kids concerns for their mental, emotional or physical safety of their peers or even themselves as an individual. Majority of the people who work at this place never took the kids seriously when they said they felt unsafe or uncomfortable. At certain points, kids were very vocal about theirs feelings of not feeling safe. A good amount of kids would verbalize their unsafe intentions or desires, but staff never did anything until the damage was done. They’re over all apologies for these incidents getting way too out of control will never be enough to justify what happened to the children who didn’t get the support they needed for their overall mental health let alone the sake of their safety and other patients, who witnessed these very unfortunate events. This facility has caused so many unnecessary traumatic events that could’ve been avoided in the most simplest ways possible. I genuinely believe my time at this very place caused more trauma for not just myself but for other previous clients who were involved in similar or maybe even the same traumatizing situations I was in… Due to “the lack of realization that staff and higher positioned employees of this field of work should Always take caution in unsafe statements or comments, and overall severe lack of support and supervision.” I left in a more mentally unstable state of mind to a higher level of care, when all of this could have been prevented with the proper amount of support and necessary precautions.

I had my son in their program as it was the last school based program and they worked with trouble children. While his short time there of maybe a month he was made to stay home for behavior, owned up on the first problem which because he was having a problem with a certain man he didn’t want searching him but wound up apologizing and letting the man to search him then he was using the slur nigga were we also said that is not tolerated at school or work later in life and it was because of that he was suspended the second time and to finish the meeting off we were told that we need to make sure that he removes a girl from his contacts in his phone so they could not communicate, my response was “what kinda communication are we talking about because teenage boys and girls talk on the phone but they said they were sharing locations and that my son showed up at an outing she was on. Upon further investigation it happened when my son was out with us his parents at the grocery store and the seen each other there unplanned and I said that is a little extreme, what is he to do leave if he sees other kids from school at the store. He had just started meds and was at a point where the medication was going to be adjusted to help him through his day at school but never got that far. I feel this is a school that deals with kids with all types of behavioral problems and my son was given up on for pretty small problems. I believe they don’t have the ability to work with trouble kids who may act out do to loss in the family like their sibling dying and overdosing from sound the wrong things while hanging out with other kids not to mention severe adhd learning disorder and social issues need less to say not able to deal with kids with problems which is supposed to be what they specialize in. So sad and I would not recommend them for families that are already struggling.

I entered this program when i was 14 and came out when I was almost 16 and I have way too many words to say but here's where I'll start. The staff treat the clients like absolute trash; I got physically restrained while having a panic attack because I was "being a danger to myself" although all I was doing was sobbing loudly because they had no emotional empathy and didn't want to help. The therapists are sorted by houses, not by the past or condition of the client. My assigned therapist asked me if my sexual assault from ages 5-12 may have just been a dream as "children have wild a imagination." On several occasions my roommate would threaten to attack me, even in front of the staff, and they did nothing about it. Not even when she ended up actually assaulting me. The only thing that happened was I switched rooms with the one right across from her, which didn't stop the assault. When I did move rooms, my roommate wouldn't stop telling me to kiss her as a joke. Once I got threatened into it, she told me to record it. I told the staff and I got in trouble for recording her as it wasn't allowed. My new roommate, after she left, ended up befriending me, which I appreciated at the time, although on occasion she would get packages from her bf, which (I didn't know at the time) contained edibles. She asked if I wanted some and I said yes assuming they were just normal gummy candy as they were put inside a candy bag. I ended up intoxicated but I knew I'd get in trouble if the staff found out, even with the knowledge that I didn't know, so I stayed in my room and pretended to stay asleep so they wouldn't know (which I also got into trouble for.) I went on a weekend visit with my parents for Christmas and the night I came back I ended up passing out from an (at the time undiagnosed) illness and went to the hospital. There they found traces of Marijuana in my system which I got put on isolation for a couple weeks for, meaning I had no contact with anyone other than my parents when they called me. Despite this, I had been basically brainwashed into believing that it was okay, ending up in what I believe to be Stockholm syndrome. I ended up falling in love with being their, being controlled and having what they called "consequences". Whether the actions I made were good or bad, the result would always be called a "consequence." If you love your kids, or if you have any conscience at all, do not send your children here. I am now almost 18 and still have not recovered from what was done to me here. The people who run this place should be clients instead of the actual clients that just need help and to be cared for.

Program is so trash I had to run away within 2 weeks being there it doesn't do anything you just have fun with the other kids mostly and like it's boring as hell idk what else you would expect from a group home but this is not it, it's literally like living hell the food trash and so is the workers. Fun thing is you can bully the workers back and fight them as self defense just don't get caught running away 😂🤫#staydangerous

If you are looking for a job DO NOT apply here. They offered me a position here and then they said they were rescinding the offer so they could give it to someone else. Incredible waste of time and unprofessionalism

One of the worst programs in the area we came to them for help with our son instead of helping they made things worse there is no de-escalation teachers and staff seam to agitate a child who is in crises instead of trying to calm the situation down staff is under trained to say the least teachers make minimum effort to teach kids and don’t seam to be invested in the child best interest this program is a joke don’t send ur child here in any situation they quit on a child at the first sign of trouble they make mini effort trying to bond with children this is a group home not a school as they try to present please for ur child’s best interest find another program they will cause more damage to ur troubled child then they will provide help and will give up on ur child with any signs of trouble they are in it for the money as a program and care very little for the youth

The environment is hostile, they do not respect foster rights. I had made multiple complaints about one of their therapists who was violating HIPA by GOSSIPING with the youth about what other kids would talk about in private sessions. They hired a predator who gave me and three other girls weed, when we reported him they called us liars and moved him to a different female house. Child safety is not their priority, the respond to children and teens acting out with pettiness and physical restraint. Ironically they will also not remove or retaliate to individuals who are threatening to harm other youth or attempting to penetrate their throat over another youths bed. I was physically attacked by a youth and they blamed me for "taunting" as opposed to punishing the aggressor. My stay was in 2018-2019 and I hope to deter any parents wanting to send them to a facility like this, New Morning Youth center is a great alternative, the have up to 14 day housing, you can have full access to your child and contact them at any given time. They offer amazing services and outpatient programs. Please before sending your child to a program like this look for less intensive alternatives.

Horrible place my daughter is there threw foster care and her therapist and case manager lied about me on court documents. If I could give 0 stars I would . Please don't let your kids go here. Staff doesn't help kids or listen to them. My daughter has been in several fights and staff dosent do anything about it or to help the situation. I'm super upset and mad at the fact they are liers & no body ever answers the phone when you call to talk to your child . This place and other places like this need to go
