Sunshine Kids Academy has been a part of our family’s life for nearly four years. The staff here is not only professional but also incredibly personable, making it feel like more than just a daycare — it’s a second home for our kids. I have had two children seriously injured that this facility did not report. One injury was a broken leg for my 2 year old and doctors said the facility’s story didn’t match the type of break. The second injury was a teacher yanking my 1 year old daughter by the wrist off of a table causing her to bite a large gash in her tongue. (The hole took 1 month to heal) The center lied about what happened until we saw the video footage. Then the owner acknowledged how wrong it was of the teacher to have handled my 1 year old in that manner and that they have had other issues with that same worker speaking rudely towards the children. The front office workers admitted to knowingly still telling and signing off on a false report about how my daughter was injured. I had my kids here for 3 years most teachers were good but the owner likes to threaten lawsuits to anyone that asks questions or complains. She even tried to use her husband’s position with the police department to attempt to intimidate the DFPS investigator and not show video footage of the injury. I reported the injury by the worker to childcare licensing and the owner terminated our care for it within 24 hours of making the report but still charged my card for care. Neither of these incidents will be found on child care licensing site because the daycare did not report them like they are LEGALLY required to. Most teachers are great, but i wouldn’t trust the facility as they like to cover up all injuries and incidents. I am aware daycare has posted in regards to my review. I have evidence of each thing in this review.

My child use to cry when I would drop him off at his other daycare and now he’s so happy to go into sunshine every morning! He starts waving to the lady’s at the front desk before we even go in and he has so much fun and I’ve never had any issues and I love his teachers !

The best daycare that’s in ellis county. They work with all children and my kids are so happy during pick up! I love this daycare and i never worry about their safety. They follow all my requests and I have never had one issue

Character defamation, Lisa the boss of the company is terrible she doesn’t know to be formal nor professional. Explicit language is always coming out of her mouth. Don’t bring your kids there, unprofessional programming, no consistency; I thinks because it’s the lack of staff/workers. The public needs to look in to there program and the boss!! Obliged you to reconsider working / bringing your kids here considering the lack of staff is always an issue . My lawyers will be in contact soon.
