Single father here put a claim in here a year ago trying to get them to help me get child support. Apparently they don't care about fathers and did nothing to help. I'm having to transfer my case to another county to get help. Don't waste your time here.

I'm not happy at all with Talladega County DHR. Everyone has been nice. But you couldn't call anyone and get them on the phone if your life depends on it. Very disappointed ?

Awfully unprofessional and poorly run establishment and uneducated staff. "Head" of food stamp department "Kim" needs training on her job and how to treat people. LAZY and inconsiderate. Every verification I turned in she needed another one. Purposefully racial profiling. She drug out my case until she didn't have to handle it. NEVER RETURNS CALLS and hung up on me when she did. Shouldn't even call this place "Department of Human Resources." Worst experience I've had dealing with humans with absolutely no empathy.

Been a month now since I filled out an application turned all my stuff they asked for 2 weeks ago and still no answer!! I’ve tried calling my case worker several times leaving voice mails no answer called the supervisor no answer. My case till this day is still pending and I don’t know what else to do I’m lost!!! This is ridiculous me and my child need food why is that so hard I’m going through a lot right now and don’t ask for help much but when I need help the most it’s not there I thought food stamps was suppose to help people!!! Where’s the HELP!!!

They NEVER answer the phone. And NEVER call back. I've left countless messages with my case worker and her supervisor and no one ever calls back. I've even had the women at the desk send them emails and give them hand written notes to give me a call and NOTHING. Also my case worker was supposed to turn my case over to someone else over 2 weeks ago. I've been sitting around waiting for a call, I had to LITERALLY go up there to find out my current case worker hasn't turned my case over and has taken the next 2 week's off. NO ONE was going to let me know anything and the women at the desk were not even aware that she was out of the office for 2 weeks I had to speak to her supervisor to find this out. I dont know how they think they need to run things but THIS IS NOT IT.
I went up there for color code and they couldn't even find the guy who administer's the test. They had no idea where he was. This place needs some help "helping" people.

I'm not going to rate this place because I don't want to say anything about anything or anyone that is not nice and friendly because that's how I was raised:"If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all." But I can and will say this: they have caused me to have Tabusko Myocardium.

My son is a 16 months. I've been trying to get his dad on his birth certificate & the health department only handed me an application to add father so sent that to Montgomery said I needed more info. Been trying for a long time to get his dad on his B.C but never was given the correct stuff/info then a random told me to call child support. I did so then me & my son's father went up there did all the stuff we was told so hopefully that's all we have to do & hopefully now I can finally get his correct birth certificate now! ? ?

12/1/21 Update: received paper from Montgomery asking for additional information. This time they actually sent the paperwork that was missing that needed to be signed. After I got it sent back we finally received my son's birth certificate! Thank you Jesus. Only took us about 6+ months to do but it is finally here

Not helpful towards these homeless individuals that where sitting on the side of the Road in Lincoln. Also tried to get help for a couple that lives behind a dumpster the lady is pregnant. DHR would not help them either on the same day.
