My son started jiu-jitsu at The Bunker Self Defense about a year ago for his 4th birthday. In addition to learning the art of Jiu-jitsu, coach Eric has taught and reinforced respect and discipline at a crucial age. We could not be happier with the results and pass multiple other places so we can learn with Eric and staff. I strongly recommend the bunker self defense in Jonestown.

The Bunker Self Defense is an absolute top tier training academy. The coaching is some of the very best across the industry
and if you are even remotely in driving distance to their location, its well worth the commute for the training you will receive. Coach Eric is phenomenal, (and his ability to work with and train children is a gift). And if you are an adult/young adult who is looking for specialized training techniques that you will likely not find elsewhere, the Bunker is the place. The Bunker also offers a special "community" feel, with many opportunities for fellowship and fun events and gatherings, and there is a true value on relationship building and community within The Bunker family!

The Bunker has quickly grown to be the best place in the Jonestown area for mixed martial arts, surpassing other gyms and earning a well-deserved reputation. The Bunker offers something many gyms do not - a holistic approach to training, one that develops the person and the skills. Often times, you will find gyms that award the belt after sufficient payment and time spent with the gym, they teach to earning points in a match and send you on your way…The Bunker is NOT like those gyms at all. The Bunker helps build essential life skills as well as techniques on the mat. You are welcomed and made apart of a family at the Bunker.

Coach Eric and Coach Angel bring immense and diverse expertise to the table that is invaluable. From their extensive backgrounds training across all MMA styles to their distinguished teaching experiences, these men are the REAL deal! Don’t let their humility fool you - they are silent professionals in their craft!

Coach Eric is extremely gifted in bringing the complexity of daunting techniques of all styles and presenting in an easily digestible and replicable way. His diversity in expertise without sacrificing knowledge is unparalleled and we are blessed to have him as a coach.

Coach Angel is very technical, and very proficient. His depth of knowledge in Kali and weapon tactics are second to none, and he is a great coach to have at the gym.

The overall breadth and depth of the knowledge the coaches possess is world-class. The Bunker is truly a gem. I come in for sessions when I am in the area (military life). I love the guys, and love the team. My time at the Bunker has been phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone, any age, hands down!

Our kids (6yo boy and 4yo girl) have been training at the Bunker over a year now (our daughter since her birthday), and this school is amazing. The kids have improved so much in focus, respect, discipline, and coordination as a product of the training. I love how the school develops the balanced, whole person- not just techniques. These kids are learning wholesome life lessons that will benefit them through adulthood. I really love that the Bunker BJJ school is focused on applicable "real world" self defense- they are learning how to avoid, evade, and subdue an attacker, not just how to score points. They learn traditional BJJ, but also have regular no-gi (normal attire) sessions and train with striking. I couldn't be happier with that.
We are so blessed to have Coach Eric- he is truly gifted with the kids. He is so awesome with them- the 4-year-old especially has a tiny attention span, and Coach Eric does such a good job redirecting and growing the focus.
The Bunker has a ton great adult training as well. As soon as I am able, I am going to join the school.

Coach Eric obviously loves what he does and is incredible with the kids. He also has a wealth of experience! He is so patient with their short attention spans. His training goes beyond technique, but also instills respect, teamwork, self-control, discipline, and focus. He develops the whole person and my son is training his body along with his character and having fun in process! He's making friends, too.

I would unreservedly recommend anyone bring their children to Coach Eric and Coach Kaitlyn for BJJ training. Their passion is apparent, their friendliness welcoming, and their experience impressive.
