Travelled to Chicago from Ontario last weekend to attend the Cube’s “Showcase” weekend. We were looking forward to watching our kids play some hockey and to make new friends with like minded people through the game we all love. When we arrived at the rink we were shocked to find that the other team had only 7 skaters and a goalie. The next day we were supposed to play that same team again but only 4 skaters showed up to play. We ended up just having a scrimmage and adding the Cube kids into the mix as we believe that hockey is for everyone and wanted to make sure they were included. We used the 2nd ice time that day for a inter club game with our other team from home to try to make sure the children still had some fun.
We were promised 4 games and barely got 1. The Cube on-site Rep refused to give us any information or answers to the obvious questions that not only us but any hockey club would have asked.
He simply told us that his lawyers have instructed him not to say anything.
It would have been totally fine if The Cube called us and let us know they could not produce what was advertised. Be honest with us. We would have canceled and there would have been no hard feelings.
But instead they had us spend thousands of dollars, made us stay in their selected hotel to go to Chicago for hockey practice.
I’d be ashamed to associate myself with this organization in any capacity.
Steer clear of this organization.

Having my son (U12) play with The Cube in both Canada and Serbia was an incredible experience from development, coaching and especially teamwork. The ownership and coaches are fine people who love the game, and are great with the kids.

If we lived even remotely close, we would go out of our way to be a permanent part of their programs.

Take the time to see for yourself and just talk to them personally. Your first impression will be great, and from first hand experience, I can tell you it gets even better.

They play at a very significant level of hockey and have a fantastic attitude toward making the team play well together.

Don’t hesitate, make the call and get time with The Cube!

We drove from Canada to Chicago for our son to play with his teammates in a “showcase” organized by The Cube for the U14 category. The Cube team that showed up for our first game consisted of only 7 players plus a goalie wearing red practice jerseys with no identifiers on the jerseys that they were Cube players.
The following morning only 3 of the alleged Cube players plus 2 goalies showed up for the 2nd scheduled game. We were shocked, confused and utterly lost in trying to understand what had happened to the showcase we paid for and travelled out of country to attend.
Sadly, the only thing this showcase offered was misinformation and deception.
The organizer/owner did not make himself available to families to answer questions or to attempt to explain this bizarre and completely unprofessional outcome let alone reach out to apologize or offer compensation to the many families that travelled from Canada to attend what turned out to be nothing but an empty rink and empty promises.

The CUBE took no accountability; their behaviour in dealing with this situation is anything but a shining example to set for youth hockey players and families and for that, they should be ashamed.
We hope by sharing this, no other families and hockey organizations have to experience this level of misrepresentation and deception.

My son attended 3 camps ( Canada, USA and Serbia). With his team from Slovakia, he had a wonderful experience. Their received very good coaching from CDT hockey team, also enjoyed time off the ice. We find this organisation as very professional and very well organised.

Travelled this past weekend from Canada for my son (u14) to play 4 exhibition games against a team or teams arranged by the Cube. First “game”Friday night, my son played a team that had 7 skaters + 1 goalie. Second “game” Saturday morning, the other team had 4 skaters + 2 goalies. Third “game” Saturday evening ended up being an inter squad scrimmage. And didn’t even bother for a fourth Sunday morning. One supposed owner “Ed” was seen in the stands and when spoken to by parents, told them to speak to his lawyer. Didn’t bother to speak to the parents and give some sort of explanation. Based on this experience it would appear to be either a very poorly run organization or just a scam. Zero chance I would ever send my child to this organization or have anything further to do with them. Don’t believe me? Join Chicago Youth Hockey Forum, search CUBE and read the comments . Wish we saw these before we paid for flights and hotel.

Came to Chicago for 4 supposed hockey games arranged by The CUBE and only played 1 game. We flew in from Canada, paid hotels and rental cars and were promised to play high caliber hockey. Only one game and not a CUBE team. Don’t trust the CEO -all lies and avoiding. Owners no to be found.

Very disappointed. Flew in yesterday from Canada for my son to play in a hockey showcase. 4 highly competitive games in 3 days was the promise. Ended up paying for flights, hotels, rentals for just 1 game and the owners of the cube are no where to be found. Can you say SCAM!
