Great place to learn more about the trades. I was in the oil heat class and Shawn is fantastic. Cares about the growth of his students.

I want to add if you work out of industry, and aren’t a young guy it may not be worth paying your way through classes. Most places really want someone young with limited life experience who will accept $18-20. I actually had a recruiter say $22 was reserved for people who have their GAS license…

I'm currently enrolled in the oil heat class (1/21/2018) at NH School of Mechanical Trades Manchester, I opted for the Tuesday and Thursday night schedule. Tuesday night is a class room learning experience using the NORA oil heat technician book. Thursday night is the lab room "hands on" follow up of what the student learned in the class room. Both John and Mike are great teachers with the "trades" personality. The class is not only informative but also fun. John and Mike go above and beyond to make sure the student is understanding the material. I was able to find employment about half way through the completion of this course. The owner's Dean Millard and John Duff will help with job placement, just ask.

Attended in 2016:
The school was a wreck. We were doing a project and found 4 heroin needles in the ceiling.
The first year teacher was a fossil in the trade and did not believe in new technology.
I missed 2 weeks because my wife was having a baby, I had been in communication with the teacher, but the office assistant called and left a vague enough message at my job (who was not paying for my schooling)to get me fired. My boss thought I was not going to school. Then they had the nerve to ask me to come back and ask if I wanted to continue.
Overall, it was nice to get the first year out of the way in 16 weeks. Other than that, go to the Manchester tech for half the price and they also practice new innovative ways to teach for real life application.

Excellent trade school. I'm currently in my 3rd year of the electrical apprentice/journeyman course and I'm highly satisfied. The price is good and the administrative faculty is great. Where this school shines most are its instructors. Steve Lamirande, Steve Ricard, and Norm Therrien are amazing teachers. I am privileged to have had them along my career journey as an electrician.

I attended the OSHA 10 certified course on Friday February 10 and Saturday February 11. The course was excellent. The instructor was very knowledgeable. I took lots of notes. The student handout packet was very helpful. I enjoyed the Workers Rights Practice Worksheet crossword puzzle. I thought the crossword puzzle was a good learning tool.
Thank you all,

I took the oil heat course here and really enjoyed it. I'm also enrolled in their accelerated year 1 plumbing class. Dean and his staff really care about their students and they take the time to make sure everyone understands the material. They cover what's in the books but they also teach you real world things that the books don't cover. I highly recommend anyone looking to get into the trades start here. I will be taking all my plumbing and gas classes here.

Just finished my oil heating course. I can say for certain this was the best trades class I’ve taken! Very informative and they help you literally every step of the way to make sure I knew what I was doing by the time the course ended. My instructor, John Duff, is really nice guy and is very well educated in this field. Everything you need to know, he’ll teach it to you. Highly recommend going here if you’re interested in getting into some trades. Well worth it!
