I LOVED my experience here. Kelli McDowell was my instructor for the three week daytime course. It was all three weeks online instruction 9am-5pm with one day of small group hands-on experience with an X-ray machine on the last week. Ms. Kelli is always available and encourages you to ask questions, call or message her with any concerns, etc, even after you finish the course. 1.5 weeks after finishing this course, I received my license from the Texas Medical Board, had my first interview the next day, and was hired that day! X-ray techs, including NCTs, are in high demand, and this is a great place to prep for your license.

So since I never received a call back about my experience, I wanna say it publicly.

Natalie is VERY disrespectful. She threw shade at me the ENTIRE time I was in the course. Felt like she doubted me because I was the youngest one in the class.

Also when I messaged her about questions regarding getting the license she blocked me.

Very disrespectful of a teacher.

Save your money and go elsewhere.

First class on zoom there were some inappropriate pictures that were exposed to everyone.

Expressed my concern with Mr. Sunny multiple times. Very rude !

She needs to be written up.

I loved my time here! The material was perfectly taught. Stacey is a very knowledgeable Radiology tech and has a great sense of humor, making the class fun to be in. Stacey also arranged for us to get our CPR certification on the last day f class, which is mandatory for obtaining a position as a NCT! Will definitely recommend!

I love this place. Stacey is such an amazing teacher. He really goes above and beyond for his students. Because of him he helped me land a job at an urgent care center and I finally make decent money especially for the amount of schooling I had to do. I can not recommend this place and him enough!! I loved it so much I tell everyone about that place and that's not something I typically do.

Just finished the 3 week course on the 25th of June. I enjoyed the class! Online learning can be challenging but Ms Kelli made the class as enjoyable as possible. As a class we share laughter as well as knowledge. It was a good experience. I’ve already recommended the course to my cousins who are interested in the medical field! Loved it and would take course all over again if i had to lol & our class basically became a little x Ray learning family lol had a blast. And the hands on day was great! It was older equipment but i do feel prepared to work in the field after learning how to use the older equipment. It really makes a difference. Ima a hands on learner so online sometimes things didn’t click or make sense to me. But the Hands on day makes all the difference if you’re like me. Kelli was so patient with all of us and the mock (patient - x ray tech scenarios) were funny and amazing! Love it!! Thank you ms Kelli!!

Update : I start my new job today as a NCT. I followed the leads that were updated on the facebook page. Listen to what Mr. Stacy & Scott say. Apply to jobs while taking the class, background check can take a while ( 1 month for my new job), getting your stuff back from the Texas Medical Board takes a while. I'm starting at $16.00 and hour, full time with benefits. Don't listen to what one person ( and his friends) posted because he would not follow directions. Would you want some one like that working on your loved ones?

I am a student in my 3rd week. Im not sure why the reviews are bad.
1. It states on the website, in the book, and when you speak with anyone there that it is "No refund" I'm sure if issues came up( such as with me. I had to move classes 3 times) and you spoke like a normal human, with respect that they would work with you.( just like college.)
2. Not finding a job is 100% on you. They are not to go out and find you places to submit your resume. ( Funny thing - ***if you listened during class *** turn in your resume and they will go over it and help you with having a professional resume.
3. I have been there 15 days and have had many face to face conversations with Stacy. Outside of his class, and on the phone.
Also I went to get my NCT, and I am walking away with my BLS, DOT UA DOT BREATH. Which is not part of the class, and they have worked it to where we get discounts on them. Those are not The X Ray Academ's responsibility, nor their problem to find instructors to come in and give discounts for us.
I am not done with the class but I have had 3 job interviews, 2 of which are wanting a second interview.

The X-ray Academy of Texas is a horrible institute. Stuck a good friend of mine with a college class he didn't attend and when he wanted a refund for a class he never took they turned him down. College is expensive and if you're not taking a class you shouldn't have to pay for it. College's should be working with their students and faculty to create a positive and wholesome experience for everyone, but they fail to do that and thus create situations like this where there reputation could potentially be damaged.
